Travel & RV Weather Forecast Wednesday 27 April

I’m RV’ing through parts of New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Wyoming this Thursday – Saturday, 28-30 April. Some updates and responses may be delayed due to limited communications!


  • A prolonged period of strong winds is expected the next few days from the Southwest to the southern High Plains.
  • Pacific storm brings snow to higher elevations of Northern Rockies Thursday and Friday.
  • Much of New England will see rain showers, gusty winds and even snow accumulations for northern New England.

Pacific:

Central CA San Francisco North Bay and portions of East Bay: Wind Advisories this evening through midday Thursday. Gusts 45-60 mph. US-101, I-80 impacted.

— Southern CA portions of the Mojave Desert: Wind Advisory midday today through late this evening. Gusts to 50 mph. I-15 ,I-40, CA-58 impacted.

Southern CA portions of Imperial County: Wind Advisory through midnight tonight. Gusts to 55 mph. I-8 impacted.

Mountain:

Portions of northwest and central MT above 5000 feet: Winter Storm Watch Thursday evening through Friday evening. Snow accumulations in excess of 6 inches likely. Difficult travel over mountain passes. i-15 impacted. I-90 on southern edge of this area.

— Central and western NM, portions of east-central AZ: Strong winds gusting 30-40 mph this afternoon and Wednesday afternoon. I-25, I-40 impacted. Advisories possible.

Central:

— Parts of eastern ND; northwest MN: Flood Warnings continue today. Several streams and small rivers above flood stage due to heavy rain and rising waters. Some roads closed due to flooding.

Eastern:

— Northern ME: Winter Weather Advisory Thursday and Thursday night. 4-6 inches wet snow possible.
