Strong winds and 2-5 feet of storm surge are expected today along the North Carolina, Virginia, Chesapeake Bay, DELMARVA and southern New Jersey coasts. 2-6 inches of rain expected from Raleigh-Durham North Carolina to New York City.


  • Ophelia tracks just east of I-95 through North Carolina and Virginia before dissipating over the DELMARVA Peninsula on Sunday.
  • Significant late-season severe weather threat for the lower Missouri Valley and northeast Oklahoma today.
  • First winter-type Pacific storm of the season impacts the Pacific Northwest starting Sunday afternoon.

  • Early taste of winter for the higher elevations of the northern Rockies continues for one more day; high winds tomorrow for southeast Wyoming.
  • Severe weather threat for much of the eastern Plains Saturday.
