  • Snow and strong winds for the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes regions today and Friday.
  • Severe weather threat for the Dallas area, southeast Oklahoma and the ARK-LA-TEX region this afternoon and tonight; very large hail possible.
  • Flooding possible today in parts of Arizona and Utah.

Pacific:

— Southeast NV: Flood Watch through this afternoon due to a combination of rain and snowmelt. I-15, US-93 potentially impacted.

Mountain:

— South-central and southwest UT; northwest, west-central and central AZ: Flood Watches continue through this afternoon due to a combination of rain and snowmelt. I-17, I-40 potentially impacted.

South-central WY; central and southwest CO; north-central NM: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories through late this evening. 2-5 inches additional snowfall in the northern half of this region and an additional 5-10 inches elsewhere. I-25, I-70 impacted.

Much of eastern and southeast NM: Wind Advisories from midday today through early evening. Gusts to 50 mph. I-40 impacted.

Central:

Much of central and eastern NE; southeast and eastern SD; northwest IA; southwest, central, east-central and northeast MN; northern WI: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories today and tonight. Additional snow accumulations will range from 1-3 inches over NE to 4-8 inches in northern MN. Widespread wind gusts 35-50 mph. I-29, I-25, I-80, I-90, I-94 impacted.

Much of western and northwest TX including the Panhandle; southwest, central and northeast OK; central and eastern KS; western and northern MO; central and eastern IA: Wind Advisories this afternoon into tonight. Gusts generally 45-50 mph. I-10, I-20, I-29, I-35, I-40, I-44, I-70, I-80 impacted.

— Far-west TX Guadalupe, Delaware and Davis Mountains, just south of the I-10/I-20 split: High Wind Warnings through this evening. Gusts 60-80 mph.

— Southwest LA and adjacent southeast TX: Wind Advisory this afternoon. Gusts to 40 mph. I-10, I-49 impacted.

Much of central and eastern TX; southeast and east-central OK; west-central and southern AR; northern and west-central LA: Scattered severe thunderstorms likely this afternoon and into the evening hours. Large hail, damaging winds and a few tornadoes all possible. Very large hail possible over south-central OK and north-central TX. I-10, I-20, I-30, I-35, I-40, I-45, I-49 potentially impacted.

— Southern AR, northern LA, adjacent northeast TX: Slight risk of Flash Flooding today and tonight. Up to 2 inches of rain possible in some locations. I-20, I-30, I-49 potentially impacted.

Southeast LA; MS and AL coastal regions; FL Panhandle: Isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms possible Friday. Damaging winds will be the main threat, but a tornado or two cannot be ruled out. I-10, I-12, I-55, I-59, I-65 potentially impacted.

Eastern:

MI Upper Peninsula: Winter Storm Warnings (west) and Watches this evening through Saturday evening. Heavy snow followed by lake-effect snow. Total accumulations 6-12 inches. Wind gusts 40-45 mph. I-75, US-2, US-41, MI-28 impacted.

Northern and coastal areas of MI Lower Peninsula: Strong winds gusting to 40 mph and lake affect snows Friday and Saturday. A few inches accumulation possible. I-75, I-94, I-196, US-31 impacted.

Southern MI; northern IN; OH; central and eastern KY; eastern TN: Strong winds Friday morning. Gusts 40-50 mph. I-26, I-40, I-64,I-65, I-69, I-70, I-71, I-74, I-75, I-76, I-77, I-80, I-81, I-94, I-96 , OH Turnpike, IN Toll Road impacted.

— MI Lower Peninsula; eastern WV and far-west MD; central and southeast VA; north-central and northeast NC; upstate SC: Strong Winds Friday afternoon and evening. Gusts to 45 mph. I-26, I-40, I-64, I-77, I-81, I-85, I-95 impacted.

Southeast LA; MS and AL coastal regions; FL Panhandle: Isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms possible Friday. Damaging winds will be the main threat, but a tornado or two cannot be ruled out. I-10, I-12, I-55, I-59, I-65 potentially impacted.
