  • Scattered severe thunderstorms this weekend across the South.

Pacific:

WA and OR Cascades: Winter Storm Warnings, Watches and Advisories above 2500 feet this evening through Monday night. Snow. Accumulations 5-12 inches. 1-3 feet snow expected in northern WA Cascades. I-90 impacted.

Southeast WA; central and eastern OR; northeast CA: Strong winds Monday midday and afternoon. Gusts 30-50 mph. I-84, I-90, US-20, US-26, US-395 impacted.

— Northeast NV: Flood Watch through Monday evening. Expect significant snowpack melting below 8000 feet. I-80, US-93 potentially impacted.

CA Sierra Nevada: Winter Storm Warnings now through Wednesday morning. Total additional snow accumulations of 2-6 feet at pass level and up to 12 feet above 8000 feet. I-80, US-50 impacted.

West-central NV: Flood Advisory through this evening. Minor flooding continues with a combination of rain and snowmelt. I-80, US-50, US-95 potentially impacted.

CA Central Valley: A few strong and severe thunderstorms possible today. Large hail and a tornado or two are possible. I-5, I-90, CA-99 potentially impacted.

Most of north-central, central and south-central CA from south of Bakersfield to north of Redding; Sierra Nevada range; adjacent west-central NV: Flood Warnings, Advisories and Watches midday today through Wednesday morning below. Flood Watches and flooding continues through midweek for south-central CA. Heavy rains, snowmelt, saturated soils and already full streams will likely create significant flooding issues. Virtually all CA highways north of I-40 are potentially impacted. There remains high potential for widespread, significant flooding at lower elevations. Rains will be heaviest Monday night and Tuesday.

Mountain:

— Northwest, southwest and south-central MT; northwest and southeast WY: Strong to high winds late Monday night and Tuesday. Wind gusts 40-55 mph. I-15, I-25, I-80, I-90 impacted.

Central:

— ND; north-central SD northwest MN: Winter Weather Advisories through early afternoon. Blowing and drifting snow with wind gusts to 35 mph. I-29, I-94 impacted.

— Portions of southeast SD: Wind Advisory this morning. Gusts to 45 mph. I-90 impacted.

Much of northern MN; northern and central WI: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories today and tonight (WI). Additional snow accumulations will from 2-4 inches in MN to 5-8 inches in northern WI. I-35, I-39, I-43, I-94 impacted.

Southern MS; southern and central AL; western FL Panhandle: Scattered severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds, large hail and a couple of tornadoes today. There is also a chance for localized flash flooding due to repeated heavy rain showers and thunderstorms. I-10, I-20, I-55, I-59, I-65 potentially impacted.

Eastern:

Far-west MD; eastern WV; west-central and southwest VA; northwest NC: Winter Weather Advisories through this evening. A mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain. 1-2 inches accumulation expected. I-26, I-40, I-64, I-68, I-81, US-219 impacted.

— Western NC north of Asheville: ICE STORM Warning above 3500 feet through this afternoon. Over 1/4 inch ice plus an inch of snow possible.

— Eastern TN along the NC border: Wind Advisory through this afternoon. Gusts to 45 mph. I-26, I-40 impacted.

Much of central and eastern NY; northeast PA; northwest NJ; northern CT; northern RI; much of MA away from the coast; central and southern VT; central and southern NH; southeast ME: Winter Storm Watches Monday afternoon through Wednesday morning. 1-2 feet of snow possible with wind gusts 40-50 mph. I-80, I-81, I-84, I-87, I-88, I-89, I-90, I-91, I-93, I-95, Mass Pike, NY Thruway impacted. NYC and Boston should see mostly rain.

MA Coastline from Cape Cod north: High Wind Watch Tuesday and Tuesday night. Gusts to 60 mph. I-95, US-6, MA-3 impacted.

— VA and MD Chesapeake Bay Shorelines: Coastal Flood Watch and Advisories Sunday evening through Monday morning. 1-2 feet of tidal inundation possible. Heads up to any RVers camping along the immediate shoreline.

Central and southern GA and adjacent northern FL: Scattered severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds, large hail and a couple of tornadoes today. There is also a chance for localized flash flooding due to repeated heavy rain showers and thunderstorms. I-10, I-16, I-75, I-85, I-95 potentially impacted.
