  • Strong winds for much of mid-Mississippi, Tennessee and Ohio Valleys today.

Pacific:

Northwest and coastal WA: Winter Weather Advisory this morning. Up to 3 inches of snow. I-5, I-90, US-101 impacted.

— South-central WA: Winter Weather Advisory through Tuesday morning. 3-7 inches snow.

Western OR: Winter Storm Warnings at higher elevations and Advisories for today (low elevations) and continuing through Tuesday morning (coastal mountains and Cascades). Snow accumulations will range anywhere from 1-3 inches in the Willamette Valley to 7-13 inches in the Cascades. Expect 3-6 inches near the coast and up to 10 inches snow above 1500 feet. I-5, I-84, US-101 impacted.

South-central OR; northeast CA: Winter Weather Advisories through Tuesday. Generally 3-6 inches snow. Up to 10 inches in higher terrain. US-97, US-395 impacted.

— Northwest and west-central NV: Wind Advisory this morning. Gusts to 50 mph. I-80, US-50 impacted.

Much of northern CA: Winter Storm Warnings through late Tuesday night. Snow accumulations generally 8-20 inches, except up to 3 feet in higher elevations. Wind gusts to 45 mph. Snow levels 1000-2000 feet. I-5 including the Passes, US-101, US-395 impacted.

— Much of CA along and north of I-40 / Bakersfield / Santa Barbara: Wind Advisories today and this evening. Wind gusts 40-50 mph. Major highways impacted include I-5, I-40, I-80, US-101, CA-1, CA-58, CA-99.

—Portions of southern NV; northwest AZ: Wind Advisories this afternoon and tonight. Gusts to 50 mph. I-15, US-6, US-93, US-95 impacted.

CA Sierra Nevada: BLIZZARD and Winter Storm Warnings through early Wednesday morning. 1-2 feet snow at lower elevations and 4-7 feet at higher elevations. Wind gusts to 60 mph. Snow levels 1000-2000 feet. I-80, US-50 impacted.

Northern, central and eastern (north of Las Vegas) NV: Winter Weather Advisory this afternoon through early Wednesday morning. 2-10 inches snow, depending on elevation. Wind gusts to 50 mph. I-80, US-6, US-50, US-93, US-95 impacted.

— Central CA Coastal Ranges: Winter Weather Advisories this morning through Tuesday afternoon. Snow levels at 2500 feet and 5-10 inches snow possible above 3000 feet. Wind gusts 40-50 mph. CA-1 impacted.

Southern CA Mountains from Santa Barbara to San Diego Counties: Winter Storm Watches and Advisories through Wednesday evening. Snow accumulations will be 2-6 inches below 5000 feet and 8-16 inches above 5000 feet. Wind gusts to 50 mph. Snow levels around 4000 feet today, dropping to 2000 feet by Wednesday. I-5, I-8, I-10, I-15 impacted.

Mountain:

Southwest MT; eastern and southeast ID; western WY; north-central and northeast UT: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories through Tuesday (continue through Wednesday for UT): Snow accumulations will range from 4-9 inches in the lower elevations and valleys to 1-3 feet in the higher elevations, passes, and mountains. Wind gusts 40-50 mph. I-15, I-80, I-84 impacted.

— South-central WY and adjacent north-central CO Sierra Madre and Snowy Mountain Ranges: Winter Storm Warnings Sunday through Tuesday. 10-24 inches snow and wind gusts to 60 mph. This region is just south of I-80.

West-central CO: Winter Weather Advisories this evening through Tuesday above 8000 feet. 5-10 inches snow. Wind gusts 45-55 mph. I-70 impacted.

South-central and southeast CO; much of eastern NM: Wind Advisories and strong winds through this afternoon. Gusts 50-55 mph. I-25, I-40 impacted.

Central:

Far west TX Davis Mountains, near the I-10/I-20 split: High Wind Warnings through this evening. Gusts to 70 mph. I-10, I-20 impacted.

— Much of the remainder of western TX and the TX Panhandle: Strong winds this afternoon. Gusts to 40 mph. I-10, I-20, I-40 impacted.

— South-central ND; eastern SD: Dense Fog Advisories this morning. I-29, I-90, I-94 impacted.

Central and northeast MN; central and northern WI: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories through this evening. A mixture of freezing rain and snow. Ice accumulations up to 1/4 inch and snow accumulations of 2 inches. I-35, I-43, I-90, I-94 impacted.

— NE; western and central KS: Strong winds this morning Gusts to 50 mph. I-29, I-35, I-70, I-76, I-80 impacted.

— Eastern KS; northeast OK; MO; most of AR: Wind Advisories through midday today. Gusts 45-50 mph. I-30, I-35, I-40, I-44, I-70 impacted.

— Southern and central IL; western KY; western and central TN; central and northern MS and AL: Wind Advisories through this evening. Gusts 45-50 mph. I-20, I-22, I-24, I-55, I-57, I-59, I-64, I-65, I-70, I-72, I-74 impacted.

East-central IL: Severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts possible today. I-55, I-57, I-72, I-74 potentially impacted.

Eastern:

Central and southern IN and adjacent southwest OH and adjacent north-central KY: Severe thunderstorms associated with damaging wind gusts possible today. A few tornadoes in OH are possible this afternoon. I-64, I-65, I-70, I-71, I-74, I-75, I-76, I-77 potentially impacted.

Central and southern IN; central and southern OH; central and eastern KY; eastern TN; most of WV; west-central and southwest VA: Wind Advisories mid-morning through this evening. Gusts 45-55 mph. I-40, I-64, I-65, I-66, I-69, I-70, I-71, I-72, I-74, I-75, I-77, I-79, I-81 impacted.

East-central TN/NC border: High Wind Warning this morning through midnight tonight. Gusts to 60 mph. I-40 impacted.

MI north of I-94: Winter Weather Advisories through this evening. Freezing rain and snow on the Lower Peninsula with 1/4 to 1/3 inch ice and up to 2 inches snow. Mostly snow on the Upper Peninsula with 3-5 inch accumulation. I-69, I-75, I-96, US-2 impacted.

— MI Lower Peninsula; western PA; western NY; far-west MD; : Strong winds through this afternoon. Gusts 40-50 mph. I-68, I-69, I-70, I-75, I-76, I-79, I-80, I-81, I-86, I-90, I-94, I-96, PA Turnpike, NY Thruway impacted.

Much of NY except far-north; central, east-central and northeast PA; northern NJ; CT; RI; MA; southern VT; most of NH; southern ME: Winter Storm Warnings (eastern NY, northeast PA, northern NJ; CT; western RI; central and western MA, southern VT) and Advisories this afternoon through Tuesday. Snow accumulations will range from an inch or two in PA and coastal New England to 5-10 inches in the interior portions of this region. Winds may gust to 35 mph. I-78, I-80, I-81, I-84, I-86, I-87, I-88, I-90, I-91, I-93, I-95, I-99, Mass Pike, NJ Turnpike, NY Thruway impacted.

— Northeastern SC: Dense Fog Advisories this morning. I-20, I-26, I-77, I-85, I-95 impacted.
