These are the most significant weather impacts to RV travel over the next two to three days. I do not list every area of rain, showers, or breezy winds. Please check out the animations and graphics for a good depiction of the weather along your route.
Pacific:
— Western WA: Heat Advisories through this evening. High temperatures in the mid-80’s to lower-90’s.
— Central CA San Joaquin Valley: Heady Advisory through this evening. High temperatures in the mid to upper 90’s.
Mountain:
— Portions of southeast ID: Flood Advisories due to rain and snowmelt. I-15 potentially impacted.
— Southeast WY; western NE; eastern CO; far-western KS; western OK and TX Panhandles; northeast and east-central NM: A few severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts are possible Wednesday afternoon and evening. I-25, I-27, I-40, I-70, I-76, I-80 potentially impacted.
Central:
— Central and south-central OK: Flood Watches continue through this afternoon. Additional rainfall totals should be 1 inch or less, but flooding may still occur from excessive runoff. I-35, I-40, I-44 potentially impacted.
— Southeast KS; northeast OK; central and southern MO and adjacent northern AR; extreme southern IL; western KY; northwest TN: Marginally severe thunderstorms associated with a few strong winds gusts and hail possible today. Hail threat should be confined to MO. I-24, I-44, I-55, I-57, I-65, I-69 potentially impacted.
— Central TN; northern AL: A few strong or locally severe thunderstorms are possible on Tuesday. I-22, I-24, I-40, I-59, I-65 potentially impacted.
— Southeast WY; western NE; eastern CO; far-western KS; western OK and TX Panhandles; northeast and east-central NM: A few severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts are possible Wednesday afternoon and evening. I-25, I-27, I-40, I-70, I-76, I-80 potentially impacted.
— Portion of northwest MS: Flash Flood Watch through mid-June for potential failure of Arkabutla Dam on the Coldwater River. I-55 potentially impacted.
Eastern:
— Northern lower MI Peninsula: Red Flag (fire danger) Warning through this evening. Wind gusts to 25 mph. I-75 impacted.
— Central and eastern KY; north-central and northwest TN; southwest VA and adjacent northwest NC: A few strong or locally severe thunderstorms are possible on Tuesday. Damaging winds, hail and a tornado or two all possible. I-26, I-40, I-64, I-65, I-75, I-81 potentially impacted.
— Eastern KY; southern WV; much of VA: Heavy rains Tuesday and Tuesday night bring a slight risk of flash flooding. 1-2 inches of rain likely in many areas. I-64, I-75, I-77, I-79, I-81, I-85, I-95 potentially impacted.
— Northern and western ME: Strong winds this afternoon and evening. Gusts 30-40 mph. I-95 impacted.
