Big Weather Picture for this coming weekend and next week:
Several days of severe weather is possible across the central US, beginning Tuesday and lasting through the end of the week. All severe weather hazards will be possible.
Much of the central US is under the risk for heavier precipitation through the first few days of May, which may lead to a flash flooding risk.
Expect relatively wetter-than-normal precipitation combined with above-average warmth as we head into the first half of May across much of the country, albeit some areas may be cooler and drier.

Multiple days of significant severe weather is expected across the Central and Southern Plains bringing the threat for damaging winds, significant hail, and tornadoes mid-week through the weekend. Gusty winds and widespread heavier rain for areas just east of the severe risk.
Risk for high winds across portions of the Southwest, Southern and Central Plains during the final days of April.
Expect relatively wetter-than-normal precipitation combined with above-average warmth as we close up April and open May across much of the US.
