  • Heat Returns for Southwestern CA. High pressure sets up over the western US through mid week bringing warm weather and high winds for southwestern CA.
  • Windy in the Southern Plains. A strong cold front moves through the plains today bringing rain and windy conditions. Temperatures drop behind the front with coldest temperatures of the week Wednesday morning.
  • Coastal flooding concerns along east coast. Coastal system moves out to sea with some lingering showers and coastal flooding from breezy conditions along the coast.

Weather Impacts Pacific Time Zone:

– Northwestern WA: Wind Advisory in effect through Tuesday evening. Wind gusts up to 45 mph expected. I-5 and US-101 impacted.

– Southwestern CA just north of Santa Barbara: Wind Advisory in effect through late Tuesday morning. Gusts up to 45 mph expected. US-101 impacted.

– Southwestern CA LA and San Diego Metro: Heat Advisory in effect through Wednesday evening. Temperatures in the mid to upper 90s expected. I-5, I-10, I-15, I-210, US-101 impacted.

– Southwest CA Northwest of LA for the San Gabriel Mountains, Santa Susana Mountains, and Ventura County Valleys: Combination of Wind Advisories and Red Flag (Fire Weather) Warnings in effect through Wednesday evening. Gusty Santa Ana winds expected with wind gusts 35-45 mph expected. I-5 and US-101 impacted.

Weather Impacts Mountain Time Zone:

– Northwestern MT: High Wind Warning in effect Wednesday. Winds 30-40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph expected. I-15 and US-2 impacted.

– Far Southern NV, Eastern CA, and Northwestern AZ around Lake Mead, Lake Mohave, and Lake Havasu: Lake Wind Advisory in effect through Tuesday evening. Wind gusts up to 40 mph expected. I-11, I-40, US-93, US-95 impacted.

– South central CO: Red Flag (Fire Weather) Warning in effect through Tuesday evening. Wind gusts up to 35 mph expected. US-285 impacted.

– East Central NM: Wind Advisory in effect through Tuesday afternoon. Winds 25-35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected. US-60, US-70, US-84.

– Far Southeastern NM and Western TX, Guadalupe Mountains: High Wind Warning in effect through Wednesday morning. Winds 35-45 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected. US-62 impacted.

– Southern TX Panhandle: Wind Advisory in effect through Tuesday afternoon. Wind gusts up to 45 mph expected. I-27, US-60, US-62, US-70, US-82, US-83, US- 84, US-87, US-287, US-385 impacted.

– North central and Northeast TX: Wind Advisory in effect through Wednesday evening. Wind gusts up to 45 mph expected. I-14, I-20, I-30, I-35, I-45, US-67, US-69, US-75, US-77, US-80, US-81, US-82, US-84, US-175, US-180, US-183, US-190, US-271, US-281, US-287, US-377, US-380 impacted.

– South central TX: Fire Weather Watch in effect late Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening. Wind gusts up to 40 mph expected. I-10, I-35, I-37, I-69, US-57, US-59, US-77, US-79, US-83, US-87, US-90, US-181, US-183, US-277, US-281, US-290 impacted.

– Eastern TN, Smoky Mountains: Wind Advisory in effect Wednesday. Wind gusts up to 50 mph expected. I-29, I-40, US-19, US-129, US-421 impacted.

– Northeastern FL, St. Johns River Basin: Coastal Flood Advisory in effect through Wednesday night. Minor coastal flooding expected. I-95, US-17 impacted.

– East Central NC coast: Coastal Flood Advisory in effect through Wednesday morning. Minor coastal flooding expected. US-17, US-70 impacted.

– Eastern Coast of VA: Combination of Coastal Flood and Wind Advisories in effect through Tuesday evening. Minor coastal flooding and wind gusts up to 45 mph expected. I-64, US-13, US-17, US-58, US-60, US-158, US-360, US-460.
