- The northwest will be seeing hot conditions. Cities like Seattle and Portland are in Heat Advisories, and the western deserts of Washington are under Extreme Heat Warnings. Heat alerts are active through Wednesday evening. Temperatures of over 90°F to over 100°F can be expected.
- A strong surge of monsoonal moisture will increase the flood threat and thunderstorm intensity throughout the west. Areas extending from the Sierras, Intermountain West, Rockies, The Central Plains, to the Ozarks are in the threat of heavy downpours and flooding events through Wednesday. Areas of 1″-4″+ of rain are expected across most of the region, especially in ID, northern UT, southeast MT, western and southern WY, CO, northeast NM, KS, OK, southwest MO, and northern AR.
- A taste of fall for the eastern half of the country as cooler weather will stick around through this week. Patchy frost is possible for the far northern regions of the Upper Midwest and New England and patchy fog is possible throughout those regions.
