These are the most significant weather impacts to RV travel over the next two to three days. I do not list every area of rain, showers, or breezy winds. (It would be exhausting for both of us!). Please check out the animations and graphics for a good depiction of the weather along your route.
Pacific:
— Northern, central and northeast NV: Flood Watches continue through this morning. I-80, US-6, US-50, US-93 potentially impacted.
Mountain:
— Southeast MT; central and eastern WY: Marginally severe thunderstorms associated with hail and isolated damaging winds will be possible this afternoon and evening. Greatest risk for severe thunderstorms will be over northeast WY. I-25, I-80, I-90, I-94 potentially impacted.
— Southeast and east-central WY: High Wind Warnings this afternoon and tonight. Gusts to 65 mph. Winds may gust to 75 mph in thunderstorms this afternoon. These will be cross-winds on I-25. I-25, I-80 impacted.
— Southeast CO and northeast NM: Red Flag (fire danger) Warnings this afternoon and evening. Wind gusts 30-35 mph. I-25 potentially impacted.
Central:
— Most of ND; northwest MN; northeast, central and western SD; western NE: Thunderstorms capable of producing isolated to widely scattered severe wind and hail will be possible this afternoon and evening. Greatest risk of severe thunderstorms over northwest SD and south-central ND. I-29, I-80, I-90, I-94 potentially impacted.
— Central and eastern ND; western and central SD and NE: Strong winds Tuesday. Gusts 30-45 mph. I-29, I-80, I-90, I-94 impacted.
— Eastern and southern MN; central and northern IA; northwest half of WI; western MI Upper Peninsula: Severe storms with isolated large hail and damaging winds will be possible on Tuesday. I-29, I-35, I-39, I-80, I-90, I-94 potentially impacted.
— Western OK; much of the TX Panhandle; portions of north-central TX: Red Flag (fire danger) Warnings this afternoon and evening. Wind gusts to 30 mph. I-20, I-27, I-40 potentially impacted.
— Southern MO and most of AR: Marginally severe thunderstorms possible this afternoon and evening that may produce strong to damaging winds and some hail. I-30, I-40 potentially impacted.
— Southeast MO; eastern AR; western TN; northwest MS: Marginally severe thunderstorms capable of strong wind gusts and hail possible Tuesday. I-22, I-30, I-40, I-55 potentially impacted.
— Southeast WI; eastern, central and southern IL; southeast MO; northeast AR; western KY and TN: Thunderstorms associated with marginally severe winds and hail will be possible on Wednesday. I-22, I-24, I-39, I-40, I-43, I-55, I-57, I-64, I-69, I-70, I-74, I-80, I-88, I-90, I-94 potentially impacted.
Eastern:
— MI Lower Peninsula; IN except southeast portion of state: Thunderstorms associated with marginally severe winds and hail will be possible on Wednesday. I-64, I-65, I-69, I-70, I-74, I-75, I-80, I-90, I-94, I-96, IN Toll Road potentially impacted.
— Portions of western and northern NY: Heat Advisories today. Heat Index values in the mid-90’s.
— Mid-Atlantic and Adjacent Northeast; southern New England: Expect temperatures to reach or break daily record highs today through Thursday.
— DownEast ME: Dense Fog Advisory this morning. US-1 impacted.
