Pacific:
— CA Sierra Nevada Mountains: Winter Storm Warnings (south) and Advisories through Wednesday morning. 4-8 inches above 4000 feet and 8-16 inches snow at higher elevations. Wind gusts to 45 mph. For the southern Sierra, expect 1-4 feet of snow above 4000 feet with wind gusts to 60 mph. I-80, US-50 impacted.
— Central and east-central NV: Flood Watches through Wednesday afternoon. Flooding caused by a combination of rain and snowmelt. US-6, US-50, US-93 impacted.
— Central, eastern and northern NV above 6000 feet: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories through Wednesday. 3-8 inches at lower elevations, 10-20 inches snow in the mountains. Wind gusts to 50 mph. I-80, US-6, US-50, US-93, US-95 impacted.
— Much of central CA below 4000 feet: Flood Watches and Advisories through Wednesday night due to heavy rains, saturated soils and already high stream levels. Major highways potentially impacted include I-5, US-101, CA-1, CA-99.
— Central and southern CA; southern NV: Wind Advisories through late tonight. Wind gusts 45-55 mph. All central and southern CA roads and highways impacted.
— Central and southern CA along the central coast and in the southern CA mountains: High Wind Warnings through this evening. Gusts to 70 mph. Major highways impacted include I-5, I-8, I-10, I-15, US-101, CA-1.
— Southern CA from San Luis Obispo to San Diego: Flood Advisories and Watches through Wednesday afternoon for excessive rainfall. Extensive flooding is likely. All southern CA roads and highways potentially impacted.
— Southern CA Coastal Mountains from Santa Barbara to San Diego Counties: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories through Wednesday night. 2-10 inches snow above 3500 feet and 2-5 feet of snow above 6000 feet. Wind gusts 70-80 mph. The passes on I-5 (Grapevine), I-8, and I-15 impacted.
Mountain:
— Southwest MT; central and southeast ID; west-central WY: Winter Weather Advisories through this evening. Additional snow accumulations generally 1-3 inches in the valleys and up to a foot in the mountains. I-15, I-90, US-26, US-89 impacted.
— Southeast MT and adjacent northeast WY: Winter Weather Advisories through midday today. Snow accumulations 2-4 inches and wind gusts to 30 mph. I-90 impacted.
— Southeast WY: High Wind Warnings and Watches through this afternoon. Gusts 60-65 mph. I-25, I-80 impacted.
— Southeast WY Laramie Range: Winter Weather Advisories tonight through Tuesday night. 3-7 inches snow above 8000 feet and 1-3 inches at lower elevations. Wind gusts to 60 mph.
— North-central and northeast, central and southwest UT: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories through Thursday morning. Total snow accumulations of 1-3 feet likely. Wind gusts 45-60 mph. I-15, I-70, I-80, I-84 impacted.
— Portions of northern AZ above 6500 feet: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories through this afternoon. Snow accumulations generally 3-5 inches. I-17, I-40 impacted.
— Western, northwest, central and southern AZ: Wind Advisories through early Wednesday morning. Wind gusts 45-55 mph. Blowing dust and areas of suddenly decreased visibility will be a hazard on the main highways. I-8, I-10, I-17, I-19, I-40 impacted.
— West-central and central AZ: Flash Flood Watches through Wednesday evening due to excessive rainfall. Rainfall amounts may total 1-2 inches. I-17, I-40 potentially impacted.
— East-central UT; south-central WY; central and southwest CO; north-central NM: Winter Weather Advisories through Wednesday night. Multiple rounds of snow will accumulate 1-3 feet in many areas. Wind gusts to 65 mph, especially on Wednesday. This region is just south of I-80 in WY and just north and west of I-25 in NM and CO. I-70 impacted.
— South-central and southeast CO; northeast, central and east-central NM; adjacent northwest TX and far-west OK Panhandles; southwest KS: High Wind Watches Wednesday midday through evening. Widespread wind gusts 60-70 mph, with some gusts reaching 90 mph in the mountain passes and gaps. I-25, I-40 impacted.
— Southeast NM: Wind Advisories this afternoon and evening. Gusts to 50 mph. US-180, US-285, US-380 impacted.
Central:
— Eastern, central and south-central ND and adjacent northern SD; northwest and northern MN: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories this afternoon through Wednesday morning. 3-7 inches snow expected. I-29, I-94 impacted.
— North-central NE: Winter Weather Advisory through this afternoon. Mixed precipitation. Up to an inch of snow with a glaze of ice. US-20, US-83 impacted.
— Northeast KS; northern MO; southeast IA; west-central IL: Strong to severe thunderstorms capable of large hail are possible late Wednesday evening. I-29, I-35, I-70, I-72, I-74, I-80 potentially impacted.
— West-central and north-central TX; south-central OK: Severe thunderstorms capable of large hail and damaging winds possible between Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. I-10, I-20, I-35 impacted.
— Eastern OK; northwestern half of AR; southeastern half of MO; central and southern IL; northwest KY: Slight change of flash flooding due to excessive rainfall Thursday and Thursday night. 2-4 inches of rain possible. I-24, I-35, I-40, I-44, I-55, I-57, I-64, I-69, I-70, I-72, I-74 potentially impacted.
Eastern:
— Most of IN; western OH; northern KY: Slight change of flash flooding due to excessive rainfall Thursday and Thursday night. 2-4 inches of rain possible. I-64, I-65, I-69, I-70, I-71, I-75 potentially impacted.
— The large area of dark blue across the Southeast on the weather hazards map shows where this morning’s low temperatures were in the upper 20’s and lower 30’s. Much of the east will now remain above freezing for the next several days.
