Your RV Weather Road Trip Forecast for Wednesday August 13, 2025


  • Heat wave continues for the southwest. It should remain hot through Thursday and Friday. Temperatures of 110-120°F + are expected for cities like Las Vegas and Phoenix and the surrounding deserts.
  • Scatterd severe thunderstorms are expected in the northern Plains today and tomorrow. Large to very large hail hail and strong winds, and a few tornadoes are possible in the strongest storms.
  • Isolated severe thunderstorms are expected for the northeast today. Gusty winds and heavy rainfall could impact cities from Washington, to Boston.
  • Heavy rain and flooding are expected today in Tennessee and the southern Appalachian Mountains. Heavy thunderstorms may produce rain totals locally exceeding 3″.

Weather Impacts Pacific Time Zone:

— Pacific Coast of southern WA and northern and central OR: A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect through this morning. Visibilities under 1/4 mile will make for difficult travel. US-20, US-30, US-101 impacted.

— Far East-central OR: A Heat Advisory is in effect through this evening. Heat indices of up to 101°F are expected. I-84, US-20, US-26 impacted.

— Portion of central WA: A Wind Advisory is in effect this afternoon and evening for the Kittitas Valley. Wind gusts up to 40-50 mph are expected. I-82, I-90, US-97 impacted.

— Much of NV; Eastern and especially southeastern CA: A combination of Heat Advisories and Extreme Heat Warnings are in effect into tonight. Heat indices of 98-114°F in most of the region and heat indices up to 122°F in and around Death Valley National Park. I-8, I-10, I-15, I-40, I-80, US-6, US-50, US-93, US-95, US-395, CA-7, CA-14, CA-58, CA-111 impacted.

— Eastern WA; northeastern, central, and southwestern OR: Red Flag (Fire Weather) Warnings are in effect this afternoon and evening. A combination of higher temperatures, low relative humidities and wind gusts of up to 25-40 mph will create conditions favorable for the starting and spreading of wildfires. I-5, I-82, I-84, I-90, US-2, US-12, US-20, US-26, US-97, US-195, US-197, US-199, US-395 impacted.

Weather Impacts Mountain Time Zone:

— Southern and southeastern AZ: A Blowing Dust Advisory is in effect this afternoon and evening. Strong and gusty outflow from thunderstorms up to 40-45 mph are expected to produce blowing dust today, and possibly developing into a haboob. Visibilities may go well below a mile at times making for hazardous travel. I-8, I-10, I-19, US-70, US-191, AZ-77, AZ-85, AZ-90 impacted.

— Northeastern WY; southeastern MT; western SD: Scattered severe thunderstorms are expected this afternoon. Primary risks include scattered strong wind events and isolated large hail events. I-25, I-90, US-14, US-16, US-18, US-85, US-212 impacted.

— Western and central AZ: A combination of Heat Advisories and Extreme Heat Warnings are in effect through this evening. Heat indices between 96-116°F are expected. I-8, I-10, I-15, I-17, I-40, US-60, US-93, US-95, AZ-87, AZ-347 impacted.

– The Grand Canyon in northern AZ elevations below 4000 feet: Extreme Heat Warning in effect through Thursday evening. Daytime temperatures of 102-112°F expected.

— Central and southern AZ: Extreme Heat Warnings are in effect through Wednesday evening. Heat indices up to 106-116°F are expected. I-8, I-10, I-17, US-60, US-93, US-95, AZ-87, AZ-347 impacted.

— Glan Canyon of southern UT and northern AZ: An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect this afternoon and evening. Heat indices up to 104-105°F are expected. US-89, UT-95 impacted.

— West-central to Eastern ID; western MT; northern and eastern UT; western, central, and southern WY; western CO: Red Flag (Fire Weather) Warnings and Fire Weather Watches are in effect across the region. The alerts are in effect this afternoon and evening and tomorrow afternoon and evening. Warm temperatures, low relative humidity, and gusty winds up to 25-50 mph expected will make for rapid wildfire ignition and spread. I-15, I-25, I-70, I-80, I-84, I-86, I-90, US-6, US-12, US-14, US-20, US-26, US-40, US-50, US-91, US-93, US-95, US-160, US-191, US-287, US-550 impacted.

Weather Impacts Central Time Zone:

— Extreme southern and eastern AR; northern LA; western MS; northeastern TX: A Heat Advisory is in effect this afternoon and evening. Heat indices up to 109°F expected. I-20, I-30, I-49, US-59, US-61, US-63, US-65, US-69, US-79, US-82, US-84, US-96, US-165, US-167, US-171 impacted.

— Eastern SD; northern NE; far western IA: Scattered severe thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening. Scattered strong wind events, isolated large hail events, and stray tornado events are all expected. I-29, I-90, US-14, US-18, US-20, US-77, US-81, US-83, US-212, US-275, US-281 impacted.

— Eastern ND; northwestern MN; central and northeastern SD; north-central NE: Scattered severe thunderstorms are expected tomorrow. Scattered large to very large hail and strong wind events, and stray tornado events are expected. I-29, I-90, I-94, US-2, US-10, US-12, US-14, US-18, US-20, US-59, US-81, US-83, US-212 impacted.

Weather Impacts Eastern Time Zone:

— Eastern and central TN; southeastern KY; far western VA: A Flood Watch is in effect through this evening. Heavy rainfall from showers and thunderstorms throughout the day may cause some flooding/flash flood events across the region. 1″-3″+ of rainfall is expected today. I-24, I-26, I-40, I-75, I-81, US-11, US-23, US-25, US-58, US-64, US-127, US-421, US-460 impacted.

–Northeastern FL; southeastern GA; southern SC: A Heat Advisory is in effect this afternoon and evening. Heat indices of 106-110°F are expected. I-10, I-16, I-26, I-75, I-95, US-17, US-25, US-82, US-301, US-321 impacted.

— Northern VA; eastern WV; southern and eastern PA; northern and central MD; northern DE; NJ; southern NY; CT; RI; much of MA; southern VT; southern NH: Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening. Primary threats are gusty winds. I-66, I-68, I-70, I-76, I-78, I-80, I-81, I-83, I-84, I-87, I-89, I-90, I-91, I-95, US-1, US-6, US-7US-9, US-15, US-17, US-30, US-301 impacted.

– Northeastern NY and Northwestern VT: Heat Advisory in effect through Wednesday morning. Heat indices up to 95°F expected this afternoon. I-87, I-89, US-2, US-7, US-9, US-11 impacted.

– Southeastern NH, Northern and the Southeastern half of ME: Heat Advisory in effect through this evening. Heat indices (feels like) in the 90s expected. I-93, I-95, US-1, US-2, US-3, US-4, US-201, US-202, US-302 impacted.
