  • High Wind Warnings, Watches, and Advisories: Strong, potentially damaging winds may create difficult driving conditions for high-profile vehicles across much of the West, Plains, Rockies, and the Northeast today into Friday night.
  • Flood Watches: Heavy rain on saturated ground may lead to urban, small stream, and river flooding across west-central and southwest Washington and northwest and west-central Oregon through Saturday.

Weather Impacts Pacific Time Zone:

— Northwest WA northern Puget Sound: Wind Advisory through early tonight. Wind gusts to 45 mph. I-5 impacted.

Coastal WA; coastal OR; coastal northwest CA: HIgh Wind Warnings and Advisories through this evening. Wind gusts 45-60 mph. Strongest winds likely along the central and southern OR Coast. US-101 impacted.

WA Cascades; northern and central OR Cascades: Winter Weather Advisories today. Snow levels mostly 2000-3000 feet although snow levels may rise briefly to 6000 feet this evening. By Friday evening, expect 1-2 feet of snow on Stevens Pass (US-2) and 10-15 inches of snow on Snoqualmie Pass (I-90). I-90, US-2, US-12 impacted.

West-central and southwest WA; western WA; northwest CA; north-central CA Shasta Valley (I-5 corridor): High Wind Warnings and Advisories west of the Cascades through this evening. Wind gusts generally 45-50 mph except gusts to 60 mph at higher elevations on the coastal ranges. I-5, I-84, US-12, US-20, US-26, US-97, US-199 impacted.

North-central WA: Winter Weather Advisory through late this evening. Snow. 2-5 inches expected. US-395, WA-20, WA-21 impacted.

Southeast WA and northeast OR Blue Mountains: Winter Weather Advisories today. Total snow accumulations up to 7 inches. About an inch of snow expected today on Deadman Pass (I-84) and another 1-2 inches of snow on Friday. I-84 impacted.

Northern ID: Winter Weather Advisory midday today through Friday morning above 3000 feet: 4-9 inches snow and wind gusts to 45 mph. I-90 impacted.

Most of west-central and southwest WA; northwest and west-central OR: Flood Watches with embedded Flood Advisories continue through Saturday. An atmospheric river is forecast to bring periods of heavy rain today. This system occurs at a time when area rivers continue to run high and soils remain saturated following heavy rain earlier in the month. During initial heavy rainfall today, the urban and small stream flooding threat will be most urgent. As runoff works its way downstream, the river flooding threat will increase tonight into Friday, with numerous area rivers now forecast to reach at least Minor flood stage. Slower reacting rivers may stay in flood stage into Saturday afternoon. I-5, I-84, I-90, US-2, US-12, US-20, US-26, US-97, US-101 impacted.

South-central WA; much of central and eastern OR east of the Cascades; southwest ID; northeast CA; northwest NV: High Wind Warnings and Advisories today into tonight. Wind gusts 45-60 mph. I-80, US-20, US-93, US-95, US-97, US-395, CA-44, CA-139, CA-299 impacted.

— Central CA San Francisco East and North Bays; Monterey Bay and Salinas Valley; Big Sur Coast: Dense Fog Advisories through late this morning. I-680, US-101, CA-1, CA-12, CA-17, CA-25, CA-29, CA-37, CA-156 impacted

— Central CA San Joaquin Valley: Dense Fog Advisories through midday today from Modesto to Bakersfield. I-5, CA-99 impacted.

Weather Impacts Mountain Time Zone:

Much of central and northern ID; adjacent west-central MT: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories today through Saturday morning. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 14 inches in the higher elevations, including Lolo Pass. Total accumulations of 3 to 7 inches across lower elevations. Winds gusting 40-45 mph. Snow levels will rise above 5,000 feet tonight before quickly dropping Friday morning. I-90, US-12, US-93 impacted.

Southwest ID, south of I-84: Wind Advisory today. Wind gusts to 55 mph. US-93, US-95 impacted.

Northwest MT along the Continental Divide and Rocky Mountain Front: Winter Weather Advisories this afternoon through Friday evening. 2-6 inches of snow at Pass levels with 6-10 inches in higher terrain. Wind gusts to 50 mph. US-2, US-89 impacted.

Parts of northwest and central MT: High Wind Watch this evening through Friday afternoon. Wind gusts to 65 mph except 75 mph along the Rocky Mountain Front. I-15, US-2, US-12, US-87, US-89, Us-191 impacted.

Northeast and east-central MT: A combination of BLIZZARD WARNINGS, Winter Weather and Cold Weather Advisories continue into early this morning. An inch or two of additional snowfall. Wind gusts to 50 mph and wind chill values as low as -30° F. I-94, US-2 impacted.

Southwest MT Madison River Valley: High Wind Watch this evening through Friday afternoon. Wind gusts to 60 mph. US-287 impacted.

Parts of southwest MT; southeast ID; northwest and west-central WY: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories this morning through Saturday morning. Snow accumulations 5-9 inches below 7000 feet, 10-20 inches at higher elevations and 2-3 feet at snow at the high Pass levels. Wind gusts 45-55 mph. US-14, US-16, US-20, US-26, US-189, US-191, US-212, US-287 impacted.

South-central MT, northeast of Yellowstone National Park, including Red Lodge: High Wind Watch this evening through Friday morning. Wind gusts to 65 mph. US-212 impacted.

South-central MT and north-central WY, including Sheridan: High Wind Watch this evening through Friday afternoon. Wind gusts 50-65 mph. I-90, US-14, US-16 impacted.

Weather Impacts Central Time Zone:

Western, central and southern ND; SD; NE; most of KS; northern OK; central and southern MN; IA; northwest IL; northern and western MO; northwest AR: High Wind Warnings and Advisories through this evening. Wind gusts will range from 45-55 mph across the southern and eastern portions of this region to 60-75 mph elsewhere. I-29, I-35, I-39, I-44, I-49, I-70, I-72, I-74, I-80, I-88, I90, I-94 impacted.

MN Arrowhead along the Lake Superior shoreline: High Wind Watch this evening through late tonight. Wind gusts to 60 mph. MN-61 impacted.

— Southeast OK; southeast AR; much of LA; eastern and southern TX: Dense Fog Advisories this morning. I-2, I-10, I-12, I-20, I-30, I-35, I-37, I-45, I-49, I-69E impacted.

Weather Impacts Eastern Time Zone:

Northern and western MI Upper Peninsula: Winter Weather Advisories this afternoon through early Friday morning. 1-6 inches of snowfall with wind gusts to 45 mph. US-2, US-41, US-45 impacted.

Northwest MI Lower Peninsula: Winter Weather Advisories this evening and Friday. 2-5 inches of snow and wind gusts to 45 mph. I-75, US-10, US-31 US-131 impacted.

— Central and southern IN; central and southwest OH; southern IL; KY: Strong winds this afternoon. Wind gusts 30-40 mph. I-24, I-64, I-65, I-69, I-70, I-71, I-74, I-75 impacted.

Eastern ME; central and southern NH; southern VT; MA; RI; CA; NY; NJ; northern, central and eastern PA; northern and western MD; northern DE; eastern WV; western and southwest VA; western NC: A combination of High Wind Warnings, Watches and Advisories tonight through Friday night. Wind gusts 45-60 mph. I-26, I-40, I-70, I-76, I-77, I-78, I-79, I-80, I-81, I-83, I-84, I-86, I-87, I-88, I-89, I-90, I-91, I-93, I-95, I-99, MA, NJ and PA Turnpikes, NY Thruway, Garden State Parkway impacted.

— Much of New England; central and eastern NY; central and eastern PA and MD; NJ: Rain and rain showers move across this region from west to east tonight and Friday. Rainfall amounts 1/2 to 1 inch.

Northeast OH; northwest PA; western NY: Lake effect snow develops Friday morning and continues into Friday night. 3-8 inches snow in the most favored locations.
