- Persistent heavy, flooding rains across much of southern Florida throughout the week. Over a foot of rain is possible across some locations in southwest Florida by the weekend.
- Significant severe thunderstorm outbreak is possible across Minnesota and Wisconsin Wednesday afternoon and evening.
- Unseasonably hot weather returns to interior California, spreading into southern Nevada, Utah, Arizona and southern New Mexico by Wednesday.

These are the most significant weather impacts to RV travel over the next two to three days. I do not list every area of rain, showers, or breezy winds. It would be exhausting (for both of us!). Weather Impacts Pacific Time Zone:
— Much of central and south-central WA; adjacent north-central OR: Wind Advisories midday today through this evening. Wind gusts 45-50 mph. Strongest winds through the eastern Columbia River Gorge. I-82, I084, I-90, US-2, US-12, US-97, US-395 impacted.
— Interior CA Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys: Excessive Heat Warnings and Advisories today and Wednesday. High temperatures 95 – 106 deg F. Highest temperatures in the northern Sacramento Valley.
— Southeast CA; southern NV; northwest AZ including Death Valley National Park, Lake Mead National Recreation Area, and Las Vegas: Excessive Heat Warning today and Wednesday. High temperatures will range from 107 – 113 deg F, and up to 118 deg F in Death Valley.
Weather Impacts Mountain Time Zone:
— Teton Pass (WY-22) closed indefinitely between Jackson WY and Victor ID due to catastrophic landslide. Currently there is no estimated time to repair or reopen the highway. US-26 via Alpine is the alternate route. Click here for advice for visitors traveling to Jackson or Grand Teton National Park.
— South-central MT: Flood Advisory continues through this evening. Showers and thunderstorms fell Sunday night and Monday on snowpack above 8500 feet, combined with streams and creeks already running bank-full, will likely produce some localized flooding. I-90, US-89, US-191 potentially impacted.
— Southeast ID; northwest MT; west-central WY: Strong winds develop this evening and continue through Wednesday. Wind gusts generally 30-35 mph except gusts 40-50 mph along and east of the Rocky Mountain Front. Expect winds to strengthen on Wednesday. I-15, I-80, I-90, US-2, US-14, US-16, US-20, US-26, US-93 impacted.
— Southeast ID; much of central and northern MT east of the Rockies; much of central and western WY: Strong winds Wednesday. Wind gusts 30-40 mph except 35-50 mph across the Wind River Range in WY. I-15, I-80, I-90 (Livingston MT), US-2, US-14, US-16, US-20, US-26, US-87, US-89, US-93 impacted.
— Southeast WY; north-central, northeast and east-central CO: Marginally severe thunderstorms possible Thursday. I-25, I-70, I-76, I-80 potentially impacted.
— Portions of south-central CO and northeast NM: Isolated thunderstorms with marginally severe wind gusts and hail possible this evening. I-25, I-40 potentially impacted.
— South-central UT: Excessive Heat Warning Wednesday and Thursday for Glen Canyon Recreation Area and Lake Powell. Temperatures as high as 105 deg F.
— Northwest AZ including Lake Mead National Recreation Area: Excessive Heat Warning today and Wednesday. High temperatures will range from 108 – 113 deg F.
— North-central AZ lower elevations of the Grand Canyon: Excessive Heat Warning Wednesday and Thursday below 4000 feet. High temperatures 104-112 deg F.
— South-central and southeast AZ: Excessive Heat Warnings below 5000 feet today through Thursday. High temperatures 101-111 deg F.
— Southwest and south-central NM; far-west TX: Excessive Heat Watches Wednesday through Friday. High temperatures 105-110 deg F.
Weather Impacts Central Time Zone:
— North-central and eastern ND: Strong winds midday Tuesday. Gusts 30-35 mph. I-29, I-94, US-2 impacted.
— Much of northern and western ND: Strong winds Wednesday. Gusts 30-40 mph. I-94, US-2, US-12, US-52, US-83, US-85 impacted.
— Portion of north-central TX: FLOOD WARNINGS and Watches today. Up to 2 additional inches of rainfall possible. Flooding has already occurred along and near the North and South Wichita Rivers. US-82, US-183, US-287 impacted.
— Much of central TX bounded by the I-10 / I-20 split to the west and I-45 to the east: Scattered thunderstorms with gusty winds and hail, are possible today. I-10, I-20, I-35, I-37, I-45 potentially impacted.
— Southeast MN; much of central and eastern IA; northwest WI: Scattered thunderstorms with marginally severe wind gusts and hail, will be possible today. I-35, I-80, I-90, I-94 potentially impacted.
— Central and southern MN; northern IA; northwest WI: Thunderstorms associated with large hail, severe wind gusts, and perhaps a tornado or two are expected Wednesday. I-29, I-35, I-90, I-94 potentially impacted.
— Northeast NE; central and northern MO; southeast IA; west-central IL: Severe thunderstorms associated with large hail and severe wind gusts possible Thursday. I-29, I-35, I-55, I-70, I-72, I-74 potentially impacted.
Weather Impacts Eastern Time Zone:
— South FL: Flood Watch through Wednesday evening. Rainfall totals by Wednesday evening may reach 2-5 inches over much of the region with 6-9 inches of rain across southwest FL. Additional heavy rainfall is likely from Thursday through the weekend. I-4, I-74, I-95 impacted.
— Western and central MI Upper Peninsula: Marginally severe thunderstorms possible Wednesday. US-2, US-41 potentially impacted.
— MI Lower Peninsula; northwest IN: Marginally severe thunderstorms possible Thursday. I-65, I-69, I-75, I-80, I-90, I-94, I-96, IN Toll Road potentially impacted.
