- Tropical Storm Alberto is making landfall on the Mexican coast this morning. Storm surge and coastal flooding will continue along the western Gulf Coast today while heavy rains work their way westward across Texas.
- Strong winds today and tonight across parts of New Mexico and southeast Arizona; blowing dust will impact I-10.
- Prolonged heat wave continues for parts of the Midwest and the Northeast through the weekend.
- Heat builds into interior California and the Arizona deserts starting Friday, continuing into next week.

These are the most significant weather impacts to RV travel over the next two to three days. I do not list every area of rain, showers, or breezy winds. It would be exhausting (for both of us!).
Weather Impacts Pacific Time Zone:
— Much of west-central and central CA, including the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys and East Bay Area: Heat Advisory Saturday through Monday. High temperatures may reach 100-106 deg F. I-5, I-80, US-101, CA-1, CA-99 potentially impacted.
Weather Impacts Mountain Time Zone:
— Southeast WY; much of northern, central and western CO; southeast UT; northeast AZ; northwest NM: Isolated severe thunderstorms today. Wind and hail are the primary hazards. A tornado or two is possible across southeast WY. I-25, I-40, I-70, I-76, I-80 potentially impacted.
— Central and eastern WY; northern and western CO; most of central and eastern UT; northern AZ: Widely scattered strong to marginally severe thunderstorms expected on Friday. Wind gusts are the primary hazard, although some hail is also possible across eastern WY. I-25, I-70, I-76, I-80, I-90 potentially impacted.
— Southeast WY: Dense Fog Advisory early this morning. I-25, I-80 impacted.
— East-central, southeast, and southern UT; adjacent west-central and southwest CO: Flood Watch this afternoon and evening. Heavy rainfall may flood slot canyons, recent burn scars and other flood-prone locations. I-70, US-89, US-191 potentially impacted.
— EasternCO; western NM: Strong winds this afternoon. Gusts 30-40 mph. I-25, I-40, I-70, I-76 impacted.
— South-central AZ: Excessive Heat Warning today. High temperatures 107 – 114 deg F expected. I-8, I-10, I-17, I-19 impacted.
— South-central AZ along the I-10 corridor between Phoenix and Tucson: Blowing Dust Advisory this afternoon and evening. Visibility as low as 1/4 mile. Wind gusts 20-30 mph. I-8, I-10 impacted.
— Southeast AZ and southwest NM: Wind Advisories today and tonight. Gusts to 50 mph. I-10, US-70, US-191 impacted.
— Central NM including Albuquerque: Wind Advisory late this afternoon through midnight tonight. Wind gusts to 50 mph. I-25, I-40 impacted.
— South-central NM and far-west TX: Wind Advisory early this morning, including El Paso and Las Cruces: Wind gusts to 50 mph. I-10, US-54, US-70, US-180 impacted.
Weather Impacts Central Time Zone:
— North-central and the MN Arrowhead: FLOOD WARNINGS continue through this afternoon. Between 3-5 inches of rain have fallen over this region; additional rainfall is possible today. US-2, US-53, US-71 potentially impacted.
— Southeast SD and adjacent southwest MN: Flood Watches this evening through Friday morning. 1-2 inches of rainfall will be common, with pockets of 3-4 inch rain accumulations. I-29, I-90 potentially impacted.
— Northwest NE: Scattered severe thunderstorms expected today. I-80, US-20 potentially impacted.
— Northwest and north-central NE; central and eastern SD; southwest MN: Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms possible Friday. I-29, I-35, I-80, I-90, I-94 potentially impacted.
— East-central and southeast MN; much of WI: Severe thunderstorms, with the potential for damaging wind, hail and isolated tornadoes, are possible on Saturday. I-35, I-39, I-43, I-90, I-94 potentially impacted.
— Far-west TX: Wind Advisory early this morning. Gusts to 50 mph. I-10 impacted.
— Southwest MS coast and eastern shores of Lake Pontchartrain; much of the LA and TX coasts: Coastal Flood Warnings continue through this evening. Significant coastal flooding with a 1-3 foot storm surge expected associated with Tropical Storm Alberto. Storm surge may reach 2-4 feet in the vicinity of Galveston.
— South TX: Flood Watches associated with Tropical Storm Alberto continue through this afternoon. I-2, I-35, I-37, I-69, US-59, US-77, US-83, US-87 impacted.

— Much NY and adjacent northern PA; MA; VT; NH; southeast ME: Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms may produce damaging wind gusts and hail today. I-81, I-86, I-87, I-88, I-89, I-90, I-91, I-93, NY Thruway, Mass Pike potentially impacted.
— Northeast OH; PA; central and southern NY; northern NJ; western MA; CT; RI: A few strong to marginally severe thunderstorms are possible Friday. Wind gusts will be the primary hazard. I-70, I-71, I-76, I-77, I-78, I-79, I-80, I-81, I-83, I-84, I-86, I-87, I-88, I-90, I-91, I-95, I-99, OH, PA, NJ, Mass Turnpikes, NY Thruway potentially impacted.
— Central and western MI Upper Peninsula: Severe thunderstorms, with the potential for damaging wind, hail and isolated tornadoes, are possible on Saturday. US-2, US-41 potentially impacted.
— Southern MI; northeastern IN; OH; northeastern KY; western WV; PA; DE; Eastern Shore MD; NY; NJ; VT; NH; MA; CT; RI; eastern ME: A combination of Excessive Heat Warnings, Watches and Heat Advisories continue through Saturday. Heat index values generally 100-105 deg F. Isolated to widely scattered afternoon thunderstorms will lower the temperature into the 70’s.
