- Tropical Storm Beryl this morning is 250 miles southeast of Corpus Christi Texas. The storm will make landfall along the central Texas Coast late tonight, likely as an intensifying hurricane. Anyone on the Texas coast, especially Corpus Christi to Galveston, should prepare for deteriorating conditions this afternoon and hurricane conditions tonight and early Monday. Storm surge along much of the coast could reach 3-6 feet.
- Beryl will bring flooding rains to much of eastern TX through Tuesday morning.
- Heat Wave and high fire danger conditions continue across the West this coming week. Some relief along the immediate California coast.

These are the most significant weather impacts to RV travel over the next two to three days. I do not list every area of rain, showers, or breezy winds. It would be exhausting (for both of us!).
Weather Impacts Pacific Time Zone:
— WA; northern ID; OR; NV; CA except for the coastal areas: A combination of Red Flag (fire danger) Warnings and Excessive Heat Warnings, Watches and Advisories continue through mid-week. High temperatures will range from the 90’s across WA, to lower 100’s for much of OR, to 100-115 deg for large portions of CA away from the coast. Temperatures in Death Valley will range from 125-130 deg F. Many places will see gusty afternoon winds of 20-30 mph and very low humidities creating high potential for the rapid spread of any wildfires that start.
Weather Impacts Mountain Time Zone:
— Western, central and northern ID; northwest MT: Excessive Heat Watches starting Monday, then continuing throughout the week. High temperatures will range from the 90’s in MT to the lower 100’s in southwest ID.
— Much of central and southern UT; southwest CO and northwest NM: Red Flag (fire danger) Warnings today. Wind gusts 30-35 mph. I-15, I-70, US-64, US-89, US-491 impacted.
— Central NM, including Albuquerque: High Wind Watch tonight. Gusts to 60 mph. I-25, I-40 impacted.
— South-central UT Glen Canyon Recreation Area, Lake Powell, Zion National Park: Excessive Heat Warnings Sunday through Wednesday. Temperatures between 100-115 deg F.
— South-central and western AZ including the Phoenix metro area: Excessive Heat Warnings (northwest AZ) and Watches through Tuesday. Afternoon temperatures 110-118 deg F. Temperatures may reach 120 deg F in the Colorado Valley.
— AZ Grand Canyon below 4000 feet: Excessive Heat Warning through Tuesday. Temperatures reaching 112 deg F.
— Portions of southeast NM; south-central NM and far-west TX: Heat Advisories today. High temperatures 103-107 deg F.
Weather Impacts Central Time Zone:
— Much of coastal TX: Hurricane Warnings and Storm Surge Warnings in effect from this afternoon through Monday. Tropical Storm Beryl will likely intensify later today and tonight, and make landfall as a hurricane sometime late tonight, most likely between Corpus Christi and Galveston. Know where and how to get reliable emergency management information for your campground or location. Be prepared for hurricane force winds and a storm surge of up to 6 feet. Evacuate if you are directed to do so. RVs are not hurricane shelters. Please follow local Emergency Management guidance and recommendations. I-2, I-69, I-37, I-45, US-77, US-281 will be impacted.
— Portions of east and southeast TX: Flood Watches for heavy, flooding rains late tonight through Tuesday morning as Beryl move through the state. While hurricane conditions will impact the immediate coast, Beryl’s primary impact on Texas will be excessive rainfall and floods. Up to 5-10 inches of rain could fall from east of Waco southward to the coast, with much of eastern Texas seeing 4 or more inches of rainfall. I-10, I-20, I-30, I-45 impacted.
— Coastal TX from Corpus Christi to the LA state line; A few tornadoes possible this evening and tonight as Beryl makes landfall later tonight. I-10, I-37, I-45 potentially impacted.
— Eastern TX and western LA; southwest AR: A risk for isolated tornadoes Monday as Beryl and its remnants move north through TX. I-10, I-20, I-30, I-49 potentially impacted.
— South-central KS; much of central OK; portions of eastern TX Panhandle: Flood Watches and Advisories this afternoon through Monday morning. Embedded FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS are already being issued this morning. Heavy showers and thunderstorms may bring 1-3 inches of rainfall across this region. Localized areas may see 4 or more inches of rain. I-35, I-40, I-44 potentially impacted.
— Much of OK; north-central TX and eastern TX Panhandle: Severe thunderstorms expected today. I-35, I-40, I-44 potentially impacted.
— Southwest TX: Isolated severe thunderstorms possible Monday. Severe winds and hail are the primary hazards. I-10, I-20, US-90 potentially impacted.
— Southeast LA; coastal MS and AL; southeast AL; FL Panhandle: Heat Advisories today. Expect heat index values of 106-112 deg F.
Weather Impacts Eastern Time Zone:
— Eastern Long Island and coastal CT: Dense Fog Advisories this morning. I-95, I-495 (Long Island) impacted.
— East coast from Delaware to the Gulf of Maine: Coastal Fog Monday morning. I-95, US-1 impacted.
— Much of western and southern FL: Heat Advisories today. Heat index values between 105-110 deg F.
— Southwest OH; southern IL; most of KY; north-central and western TN: Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms may produce a couple of damaging wind gusts or tornadoes on Tuesday. I-24, I-64, I-65, I-69, I-71, I-75 potentially impacted.
