** Heads Up ** Travel conditions Monday and Tuesday will become hazardous to impossible for RVer’s from the Cascades and Northern Rockies, south to New Mexico and Arizona. High winds with some gusts exceeding Hurricane force will encompass the region. Heavy snows in the Mountains will create blizzard conditions, while Dust Storms with sudden drops to near-zero visibility will impact the Southwest.

These are the most significant weather impacts to RV travel over the next two to three days. I do not list every area of rain, showers, or breezy winds. It would be exhausting (for both of us!). Weather Impacts Pacific Time Zone:

WA and OR Cascades above 1000-1500 feet: Winter Storm Warnings through Monday afternoon. 1-3 feet of snow and wind gusts 40-50 mph possible. I-90, US-2, US-12, US-20, US-26 impacted.

Northern ID: Winter Storm Warnings above 3000 feet and Wind Advisories late this morning through Monday afternoon. Up to 16 inches snow possible. Around 3 inches snow expected in the valleys below 3000 feet. Wind gusts to 55 mph. I-90, US-2, US-95 impacted.

— Much of south-central and eastern WA; north-central and northeast OR: Wind Advisories this afternoon through Monday afternoon. Gusts to 55 mph. I-82, I-84, I-90, US-2, US-12, US-97, US-195, US-395 impacted.

Southeast WA and northeast OR Blue Mountains above 3000 feet: Winter Storm Watch this evening through late Monday night. 6-12 inches snow above 5000 feet, with wind gusts to 55 mph. I-84 impacted.

Coastal Range mountains in southwest WA, northwest and west-central OR above 1000 feet. Winter Weather Advisories this evening through Monday afternoon. 2-5 inches snow. Wind gusts to 40 mph. US-26 impacted.

Southeast OR; northeast CA; northwest NV: High Wind Watch (NV) and Wind Advisories late Sunday night through Monday evening. Wind gusts 45-60 mph. I-80, US-20, US-26, US-50, US-95, I-395 impacted.

Northeast NV: Winter Storm Watch late Sunday night through late Monday night. 10-15 inches snow likely in the mountains with wind gusts as high as 70 mph. I-80, US-93 impacted.

CA central and southern Sierra Nevada Mountains: Winter Weather Advisories this evening through late Monday night. 4-10 inches snow and wind gusts to 45 mph. Snow levels start around 6000 feet, lowering to 5000 feet by Monday evening. I-80, US-50 impacted.

Southern NV; southeast CA Mojave Desert: Wind Advisories Monday afternoon through midday Tuesday. Gusts 40-50 mph will create areas of suddenly reduced visibility on highways. I-15, I-40, US-93, US-95, US-395, CA-58, CA-127 impacted.

Weather Impacts Mountain Time Zone:

Much of northern, central and southeast ID; northwest and west-central MT: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories midday today through Monday evening. Accumulations will range from 3-6 inches on valley floors to 8-16 inches across the Passes. Wind gusts 45-55 mph. I-15, I-90, US-2, US-12, US-93, US-95 impacted.

Much of southern ID: High Wind Watches and Advisories late tonight through early Tuesday morning. Wind gusts to 55 mph. I-15, I-84, I-86, US-20, US-30, US-93, US-95 impacted.

Southwest MT; much of western and central MT along and east of the Rocky Mountain Front: High Wind Warnings this afternoon through Monday morning. Widespread wind gusts 65-70 mph with some areas near the Rocky Mountain Front seeing wind gusts to 80 mph. I-15, I-90, US-2, US-12, US-191 impacted.

Central and south-central MT; western WY and adjacent southeast ID; north-central, central, west-central and southwest UT: Winter Storm Warnings, Watches and Advisories this evening through Tuesday. Snow accumulations will range from 6-16 inches in MT and WY, 1-2 feet in the UT mountains, and up to 4 inches across west-central UT. Wind gusts 60-70 mph across much of MT and WY, and 40-50 mph across parts of UT. Although there are not Blizzard Warnings posted at this time, these are BLIZZARD CONDITIONS. Major Highways impacted include I-15, I-70, I-80. I-84, I-90, US-14, US-16, US-20, US-26, US-30, US-40, US-50, US-89, US-191and all Passes in this region.

Central UT: Wind Advisory Tuesday. Gusts to 55 mph. I-70, US-191 impacted.

South-central MT and north-central WY: Winter Storm Watch Monday and Tuesday for the Big Horn Mountains and Sheridan Foothills. 2-8 inches snow likely. I-25, I-90, US-16 impacted.

Northwest and west-central WY east of Yellowstone and Grand Teton Parks; much of central and southeast WY: High Wind Warnings today, tonight and Monday. Wind gusts 60-80 mph. I-25, I-80, US-14, US-16, US-20, US-26, US-287,

South-central WY; much of central and southwest CO; north-central NM: Winter Storm Watches Monday afternoon though Tuesday evening. 10-20 inches of snow and wind gusts to 60 mph. I-70, I-80, US-34, US-40, US-50, US-160, US-285, US-550 impacted.

Eastern CO along and east of the Front Range; northeast and east-central NM: Red Flag (fire danger) Warnings late this morning through this evening. Wind gusts 35-50 mph. I-25, I-40, I-70, I-76, US-50, US-54, US-84 impacted.

South-central and southeast CO; most of eastern and portions of southwest NM: High Wind Watches Monday, Monday night and Tuesday. Wind gusts 65-75 mph. I-25, I-40, US-50, US-54, US-60, US-64, US-70, US-84, US-285, US-380 impacted.

Northern, northeast and east-central AZ: Wind Advisory Monday, Monday night and Tuesday: Wind gusts 45-55 mph. I-17, I-40, US-60, US-89, US-160, US-191 impacted.

Weather Impacts Central Time Zone:

Northeast ND; northern MN: Light snow late tonight and Monday morning. Accumulations generally less than 2 inches. I-29, US-53, US-59, US-71 impacted.

— Southwest SD; northwest NE; southwest KS; OK and TX Panhandles: Strong winds Monday afternoon. Gusts 30-45 mph. I-17, I-40, I-90, US-6, US-20, US-26, US-34, US-40, US-50, US-54, US-60, US-83, US-84 impacted.

— Much of western, southwest and south-central NE; adjacent north-central KS: Red Flag (fire danger) late this morning through this evening. Wind gusts 30-40 mph. I-80, US-20, US-26, US-83, US-385 impacted.

— Eastern MN; eastern IA; western and central WI: Strong winds midday Monday through Monday evening. Wind gusts 30-35 mph. I-35, I-39, I-43, I-80, I-90, I-94 impacted.

— IL; southwest MO: Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms, associated with isolated wind damage, hail and possibly a few tornadoes, will be possible from late Tuesday afternoon, into the evening and overnight. I-39, I-44, I-55, I-57, I-70, I-72, I-74, I-80, I-88, I-90 potentially impacted.

Weather Impacts Eastern Time Zone:

— MI Upper Peninsula: Strong winds Monday afternoon and evening. Winds spread across the UP from west to east. Wind gusts 30-40 mph. US-2, US-41, US-45 impacted.

— Northern NY and northern New England: Some light snow tonight and Monday morning. Accumulations generally 1 inch or less. I-87, I-89, I-91, I-93, I-95 will have minor impacts.

–Southwest MI; northern and central IN; northwest OH: Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms, associated with isolated wind damage, hail and possibly a few tornadoes, will be possible from late Tuesday afternoon, into the evening and overnight. I-65, I-69, I-70, I-74, I-80, I-90, I-94, OH Turnpike, IN Toll Road potentially impacted.
