Three things to know about weather for RVers and travelers Saturday 25 November

Snow continues in the central and southern Rockies this morning.
Snow will move northeast into the Central Plains this afternoon.
Freeze warnings are in effect across much of California’s central valleys.

These are the most significant weather impacts to RV travel over the next two to three days. I do not list every area of rain, showers, or breezy winds. It would be exhausting (for both of us!). Please check out the animations and graphics for a good depiction of the weather along your route.

Pacific:

— South-Central Coast OR: Freeze Advisory through Sunday morning. US-101 impacted.

— Portions of Central CA valleys, southeastern CA, southern NV: Freeze Warning through Sunday morning. Temperatures may be below freezing. I-5, I-15, I-40, I-80 impacted

— Southern NV – AZ – CA border along the Colorado River valley: Strong winds late this morning through this evening. Wind gusts 30-40 mph. I-40 impacted.

— Southern CA: Strong Santa Ana winds north of Los Angeles Sunday morning and afternoon. Wind gusts to 45 mph. I-5, US-101 impacted.

Mountain:

— Northeast and central MT: Strong wind gusts tonight. Gust up to 35-45 mph. US-2 and I-94 impacted.

— Portions of eastern UT, western, central, and northeast CO, northern NM, portion of eastern AZ: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories through today. Accumulations 2-5 inches in the valleys with 6-12 inches in higher elevation areas. I-15, I-25, I-40, I-70 impacted

— Southeast AZ: Freeze Warning through Sunday morning. Sub-freezing temperatures expected. US-70 impacted.

— Southern NM: Strong wind gusts this afternoon. Gusts 30-40 mph. I-10, I-25 impacted.

Central:

— Western and south-central ND: Wind Advisory tonight through Sunday afternoon. Gusts up to 45 mph. I-94 impacted.

— Eastern ND, SD, western, central, and northeast NE: Strong Wind gusts tonight through Sunday afternoon. Gusts 35-45 mph. I-29, I-80, I-90, I-94 impacted.

— Much of western MN and northwest IA: Strong wind gusts up to 35 mph Sunday. I-29, I-90, I-94 impacted.

— West-central NE and much of KS: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories today and tonight. Accumulations of 1-3 inches in portions of NE and up to 2-8 inches in portions of KS. Sleet and freezing rain is also expected. I-35, I-70, I-80 impacted.

— Northwest OK and northern panhandle of TX: Winter Weather Advisory today and tonight. Mixed precipitation of snow, sleet, and freezing rain expected. Snow accumulations up to 3 inches and up to one tenth of an inch in ice accumulation. Expect slippery road conditions. US-64 and US-87 impacted.

— Northern MO, southeast IA, and portions of northwestern IL: Winter Weather Advisory this evening through Sunday around noon. Snow accumulation 1-4 inches. I-29, I-35, I-70, I-74, I-80 impacted.

— Southern WI; northern IL: Snow tonight through Sunday around noon. Accumulation around an inch. I-39, I-43, I-55, I-57, I-72, I-74, I-80, I-88, I-90, I-94 impacted.

Eastern:

— Much of MI; northwest IN: Snow Sunday morning through the night. Snow accumulation up to 2 inches in northwestern MI and less than one inch for portions of southeast MI. I-65, I-69, I-75, I-94, I-90, I-96, IN Toll Road impacted.
