Big Weather Picture for the coming eight days:
- Snow in the Sierra Nevada, winds in the Southwest, and a coastal storm moves up the East Coast on Friday.
- Increasing threat of severe weather for the Central and Southern Plains, and mid-Mississippi Valley this coming Sunday through Tuesday.
- More snow for the Northern Plains and western Great Lakes to kick off April.
Extended outlooks are more general in nature and higher level than the daily short term forecasts. Beyond a week, there is often significant uncertainty in the exact timing, location and intensity of specific weather events.
