  • Weekend snows for the Colorado Rockies.
  • Severe weather returns to Texas on Sunday and Monday.
  • Severe weather for the Deep South Tuesday.
  • Heavy rains with flooding potential across eastern Texas and the South Sunday through Tuesday.
  • Lingering strong thunderstorms across the Southeast Wednesday.
  • Heavy rain continues along the Gulf Coast, Florida and into the Mid-Atlantic Region on Wednesday.
  • Strong winds in the northern Rockies on Thursday.
  • More heavy rain for the South Thursday and Friday.

Extended outlooks are more general in nature and higher level than the daily short term forecasts. Beyond a week, there is often significant uncertainty in the exact timing, location and intensity of specific weather events.

  • Unsettled weather returns to the Pacific Northwest.
  • Chance of strong winds across the Southwest and western TX 17-21 May.
  • Above normal temperatures and excessive heat possible for south and southwest Texas, including Big Bend National Park, 18-21 May.
  • Much of the US east of I-35 will be wetter than normal. Greater chance of above normal precipitation will be across the Southeast.
  • Most of the country will see at or above normal temperatures; the Pacific Northwest will be the exception.
