These are the most significant weather impacts to RV travel over the next two to three days. I do not list every area of rain, showers, or breezy winds. It would be exhausting (for both of us!). Please check out the animations and graphics for a good depiction of the weather along your route.
Pacific:
— Southern WA coast; northern and central OR coast: Strong winds tonight. Gust 30-45 mph. US-101 impacted.
— Western WA; northwest and north-central OR: Heavy rains this evening through Thursday morning. Marginal risk of Flash Flooding. Temperatures are warm and snow levels high, so no significant snow expected in the Cascades until early next week. I-5, I-84, I-90, US-101 impacted.
— Southern CA San Diego County Mountains and inland Valleys: Wind Advisories continue through this evening. Wind gusts generally 40-50 mph. Major highways impacted includeI-8, I-10, I-15.
Mountain:
— Western MT and northwest WY: High elevation snows move into the region Thursday afternoon and Thursday night. Snow should remain above most pass levels.
— South-central MT; northwest WY Absaroka and Wind River Ranges: Strong to high winds starting Thursday afternoon. Wind gusts 50-60 mph. I-90 Bozeman Pass near Livingston likely impacted.
— Southeast WY: High Wind Warning this morning Snowy Range Foothills between Rowlins and Laramie. Gusts to 60 mph. I-80 impacted.
— Southeast WY: High Wind Watch Thursday and Thursday night. Wind gusts to 60 mph. I-25, I-80 impacted.
Central:
— Southern LA south of New Orleans and Lake Pontchartrain: Wind Advisory through mid-morning. Gusts to 35 mph. I-10, US-90 impacted.
— Central and southern LA and MS; much of AL; FL Panhandle: Red Flag (fire danger) Warnings today. Wind gusts 25-35 mph. I-10, I-12, I-20, I-49, I-55, I-59, I-65, I-85 impacted.
— Central and southern MS; most of AL: Freeze Warnings and Watches for tonight into Thursday morning. Low temperatures in the upper 20’s and lower 30’s.
Eastern:
— Northeast OH; northwest PA: Lake Effect Snow Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories through this afternoon. Additional snow accumulations up to 2-4 inches. I-79, I-80, I-90, OH Turnpike impacted.
— South-central PA along the Allegheny Front; western MD; eastern WV: Some lake effect snow showers this morning. I-68, I-70, I-76, US-22, US-48, US-219, PA Turnpike impacted.
— Far-western MD and adjacent WV: Winter Weather Advisory through lunchtime today. Up to 2 inches of snow and wind gusts to 35 mph. I-68, US-50, US-219 impacted.
— Much of western and Southern Tier NY, Adirondacks and Catskill Mountains: Some snow showers today. Mostly minor accumulations. Heavier snow downwind of Lake Ontario. I-81, I-88, I-90, NY Thruway impacted.
— Western MD; western and southwest VA; western NC; southeast TN; northern and western GA: Some stronger wind gusts this morning. Occasional gusts to 30-35 mph in higher terrain and exposed regions. I-20 ,I-40, I-64, I-66, I-68, I-77, I-81, I-85 impacted.
— Western GA; FL Panhandle: Red Flag (fire danger) Warnings through this evening. Gusts to 25 mph.
— NJ; much of central and eastern PA; DE; DC; most of MD, VA, NC and SC; GA except the most southern portion of the state: Freeze Warnings and Watches tonight and Thursday morning. Morning temperatures in the mid 20’s to lower 30’s deg F.
