  • A slow-moving and large storm system will produce widespread strong to possibly severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall with possible flooding from the Midwest and Ohio Valley to the Southern U.S. into late week.
  • Heaviest rain today will be along the I-10 corridor from Pensacola FL to Beaumont TX.
  • Record-breaking heat is possible in central California.
  • Widely scattered severe thunderstorms possible Friday along the I-95 Corridor from New York City to Savannah GA.

Pacific:

— Northeast OR, and adjacent central ID: Widely scattered severe thunderstorms possible on Thursday. Severe wind gusts and large hail are the primary threats. I-84 potentially impacted.

— Northern CA Sacramento Valley: Winds gusting to 30 mph this morning. Advisories unlikely. I-5, CA-99 impacted.

Mountain:

— No significant weather impacts to RV travel today or Thursday.

Central:

— Eastern TX; southern LA; southern MN; southwest AL; far-western FL Panhandle: Flood Watches through Thursday morning. A broad area of 3-5 inches of rainfall is expected. I-10, I-12, I-49, I-55, I-59, I-65 potentially impacted.

Eastern:

— Central and eastern OH: Widely scattered severe thunderstorms possible on Thursday. Severe wind gusts and large hail are the primary threats. I-70, I-71, I-76, I-77, I-80/90 / OH Turnpike potentially impacted.

— I-95 corridor from New York City to Savannah GA: Widely scattered severe thunderstorms possible Friday. Damaging wind gusts are the primary threat.
