  • Flash floods are occurring this morning in parts of northeast Louisiana and central Mississippi.
  • Another day of heavy rain and thunderstorms across the Southern U.S.
  • Monsoon rains strengthen over western Arizona, southern Nevada, and the adjacent California deserts today.

Pacific:

— Northeast WA; northern and northeast ID: Flood Watches today and this evening for excessive rainfall. I-90 potentially impacted.

— Interior southern and southeast CA; adjacent southern NV; adjacent western AZ: Flood Watches today and tonight from monsoon storms. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded. I-8, I-10, I-15, I-40, CA-58 potentially impacted.

Mountain:

— Northwest MT: Flood Watches today and this evening for excessive rainfall. I-15, I-90 potentially impacted.

— Western AZ: Flood Watches today and tonight from monsoon storms. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded. I-8, I-10, I-40 potentially impacted.

Central:

— South-central and central TX around and to the south of the Austin / San Antonio region: Flood Advisories and Watches through this evening for excessive rainfall. I-10, I-35 potentially impacted.

Parts of northeast LA and central MS: Flash Flood Warnings and Advisories this morning. Up to 4-6 inches of rain have fallen overnight with another 2-4 inches of rain possible. If you are in a flash flood warning or advisory, move to higher ground immediately. Do not drive or tow through or across flooded roads. Follow the directions of your local emergency management officials. I-20 in LA near the Mississippi River potentially impacted.

Southeast TX; most of LA north of I-10; central and southern MS north of the Coast: Flood Watches through late tonight for excessive rainfall. Rainfall and flooding potential greatest over northeast LA and central MS. I-10, I-20, I-49, I-55, I-59 potentially impacted.

Eastern:

— No significant weather impacts to RV travel today or Thursday.
