  • Monsoon showers and thunderstorms heaviest today over northeastern New Mexico.
  • Coastal New England from Cape Cod to Maine will see wind and rain today from a nor’easter type storm.
  • Chance for significant flash flooding Friday and Friday night over southern Arizona and southwest New Mexico.
  • One more very hot day for the California San Joaquin Valley.

Pacific:

— CA San Joaquin Valley: Excessive Heat Warning today. High temperatures 101-106 deg F. I-5, CA-99 impacted.

— Central and east-central WA: Excessive Heat Warning today through Friday. High temperatures upper 90’s to 105 deg F. I-90 impacted.

Mountain:

— South-central and southeast AZ; southwest NM: Be prepared for the chance of significant flash flooding Friday and Friday night, caused by a combination of an active monsoon plus the tropical disturbance moving westward from Texas. I-8, I-10, I-19 potentially impacted.

— North-central and northeast NM: Flood Watches through tonight from monsoon storms. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded. I-25 potentially impacted.

Central:

— Southern IL; southeast MO; far-west KY: Dense Fog Advisories this morning. I-24, I-55, I-57 impacted.

— Southern coastal TX: Chance for another tropical disturbance to move onshore this weekend, bringing more heavy rain and flooding potential to the region. I-2, I-37, I-69E potentially impacted.

Eastern:

— Coastal MA, coastal NH and much of ME: Summertime nor’easter brings rain and strong winds, especially to ME, through Thursday morning. Wind gusts 30-40 mph along the Cape Cod and ME coasts this afternoon and evening. I-95 impacted.
