  • Strong winds expected over the Northern and Central Plains this afternoon and again Thursday afternoon.
  • Slight risk of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening over the mid-Mississippi Valley.
  • Heavy rains likely across the Northeast Thursday and Friday; chance of marginally severe thunderstorms on Thursday.
  • Northern Minnesota and northern Wisconsin may see some snowfall Thursday and Thursday night; minimal travel impacts.

Pacific:

— No significant impacts to RV travel today or Thursday.

Mountain:

— Eastern MT, northeast WY: Strong winds this afternoon and evening. Gusts 35-50 mph. I-90, I-94 impacted.

— Eastern MT, eastern WY: Strong winds Thursday afternoon and evening. Gusts 35-50 mph. I-25, I-80, I-90, I-94 impacted.

Central:

Most of ND and SD; northeast NE: High Wind Warnings (western SD) and Advisories late this morning through this evening. Wind gusts 50-65 mph. Strongest winds over western SD. I-29, I-90, I-94 impacted.

— Most of NE: Strong winds this afternoon and evening. Wind gusts 40-50 mph. I-29, I-80 impacted.

Western and central ND; most of SD; NE; northern KS; western and central IA; MO: Strong winds Thursday afternoon and evening. Wind gusts from 30-40 mph in the eastern portions to 40-55 mph over the western Dakotas. I-29, I-70, I-80, I-90, I-94 impacted.

East-central AR; western TN; northern MS: Thunderstorms capable of damaging winds and hail are possible this afternoon and evening. I-22, I-40, I-55 potentially impacted.

— Southwest MS and southeast LA: Dense Fog Advisory this morning. I-10, I-12, I-55, I-59 impacted.

Eastern:

— Central NY; central and eastern PA; western NJ; MD; DC; northeast WV; northern and central VA: Strong to marginally severe thunderstorms Thursday may produce gusty winds or even a brief tornado or two. Major highways potentially impacted include I-64, I-66, I-68, I-70, I-76, I-78, I-80, I-81, I-83, I-84, I-87, I-88, I-90, I-95, I-99, NY Thruway, PA & NJ Turnpikes.

— Central and eastern NY; northeast PA; northern NJ; VT; northern and eastern NH; western MA; western CT: Slight risk of flash flooding Thursday and Thursday night from excessive rainfall. Major highways potentially impacted include I-81, I-84, I-87, I-88, I-89, I-90, I-91, I-93, I-95, MA Turnpike, NY Thruway.

— Downeast ME: Dense Fog Advisory this morning. I-95 impacted.

— Northeast FL eastern Putnam County: Coastal Flood Warning through Thursday morning. Moderate coastal flooding at high tide.
