** Heads Up ** Major winter storm coming through the southern California mountains and Southwest today and tonight, the Plains on Thursday, and Great Lakes on Friday.
- Multi-day severe weather outbreak starting now. Thursday will be the worst day. Greatest risk from Dallas eastwards along I-20 and I-30. This region will also be under the threat of flash flooding.
- Major winter storm moves into the Southwest today and Thursday bringing snow south to I-10 and high winds and blowing dust.
- The storm on Friday will bring high winds from the Plains east to the Appalachians, creating hazardous driving and towing conditions.

Pacific:
— WA Cascades; northern OR Cascades: Winter Storm Warnings (WA) and Advisories early Thursday morning through Friday morning above 1000 feet. 1-2 feet snow expected. I-90 impacted.
— Eastern WA: Dense Fog Advisory this morning. I-90 impacted.
— Northern ID and adjacent MT: Winter Weather Advisory early Thursday morning through Friday evening. 3-7 inches snow in the valleys and 7-14 inches in the mountains. Wind gusts to 50 mph. I-90 impacted.
— Northwest OR coastal ranges: Winter Weather Advisory above 1500 feet later tonight through Thursday morning. 2-5 inches snow likely.
— CA Southern Sierra Nevada mountains: BLIZZARD Warnings continue through this afternoon. Total snow accumulation 4-6 feet. Wind gusts to 75 mph. US-6, US-395 impacted.
— Central, east-central and southeast NV: Winter Storm Warnings (south) and Advisories through tonight above 3000 feet. 2-5 inches snow above 3000 feet and 6-12 inches above 5000 feet. Wind gusts to 55 mph. US-6, US-50, US-93 impacted.
— Southern CA Mountains from Santa Barbara to San Diego Counties: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories through this evening. Total snow accumulations 10-20 inches above 5000 feet. Wind gusts 50-60 mph. I-5, I-8, I-10, I-15 impacted.
— Southeast CA eastern Mojave Desert: Winter Weather Advisory through this afternoon above 3000 feet. 3-5 inches snow and wind gusts to 60 mph. I-15, I-40 impacted.
— Southern CA coastal regions from Santa Barbara to the Mexican border: Wind Advisories through this afternoon. Gusts to 45 mph. I-5, I-8, I-10, I-15, US-101 impacted.
— Much of southern and southeast CA; southern NV: High Wind Warnings (Mojave Desert, Imperial Valley, Mountains) and Advisories through tonight. Wind gusts generally 55-65 mph, except near 75 mph in the San Diego County Mountains and Imperial Valley. I-5, I-8, I-10, I-15, I-40, US-93, US-95, US-101, US-395, CA-58 impacted.
Mountain:
— Northwest MT along and east of the Rocky Mountain Front: High Wind Warning this afternoon through Thursday evening. Gusts to 85 mph. I-15 impacted.
— Southeast ID; much of UT; northwest, central and southwest AZ above 4000 feet; western, northwest and north-central NM; central and southwest CO: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories through Thursday. Storm will enter, then exit, region from west to east. Snow accumulations will range from 2-4 inches in southeast AZ and southwest NM to feet of snow in the AZ, CO, and UT mountains. Wind gusts 45-60 mph. I-10, I-15, I-17, I-19, I-25, I-40, I-70, I-80 impacted.
— Northwest and east-central AZ: Wind Advisories today. Gusts to 50 mph. I-40 impacted.
— Southern AZ; southern NM; far-west TX: High Wind Warnings and Advisories through tonight. Wind gusts generally to 50 mph, except gusts to 80 mph in southeast NM and far-west TX, including the I-10, I-20 split. I-10, I-17, I-19, I-20, I-25 impacted.
Central:
— Western and southwest TX: High Wind Warnings, Watches and Advisories through Thursday evening. Wind gusts generally around 50 mph today, increasing to 70 mph tonight. However in the vicinity of the I-10 / I-20 split, expect wind gusts to reach 80 mph today and Thursday. I-10, I-20 impacted.
— Central and southern ND; northern SD; central MN; northwest WI: Winter Storm Warnings (ND) and Advisories ending today from west to each. Additional accumulations will range from 1-3 inches over the Dakotas to 4-6 inches in WI. Wind gusts 35-45 mph. I-29, I-35, I-94 impacted.
— Northwest KS and adjacent east-central CO: Winter Storm Watch this evening through Thursday evening. 3-6 inches of snow possible and wind gusts to 35 mph. I-70 impacted.
— Much of eastern OK; central and northern AR; southern MO; western TN; northern AL: Flood Watches through Friday morning. Rainfall totals could be in excess of 4 inches. I-24, I-30, I-40, I-44, I-55, I-65, I-85 potentially impacted.
— Northeast TX, greater Dallas-Ft. Worth area: Severe Thunderstorm Watch through midday today. Hail up to the size of tennis balls and wind gusts to 60 mph possible. I-20, I-30, I-35, I-45 potentially impacted.
— Southern and central AR; northern MS; southwest and south-central TN; northern AL: Severe thunderstorms possible today with large hail, damaging winds and a few tornadoes all possible today and tonight. I-22, I-24, I-30, I-40, I-55, I-65 potentially impacted.
— Much of eastern TX; southeast OK; much of AR; southwest and south-central TN; much of AL, MS and LA: A significant regional severe weather outbreak looks possible Thursday and Thursday night. Widespread damaging winds, large hail and a few strong tornadoes all possible. I-10, I-20, I-22, I-30, I-35, I-40, I-35, I-40, I-49, I-55, I-59, I-65, I-85 potentially impacted.
— Central TN and AL: Severe thunderstorms capable of damaging winds and a few tornadoes are possible Friday. I-20, I-22, I-24, I-40, I-59, I-65, I-85 potentially impacted.
— On Friday, expect high winds from eastern OK, north through MO, southeast IA and into northern IL. Numerous High Wind Warnings and Advisories will likely be issued.
Eastern:
— Central and eastern KY; southwest VA; eastern TN; central and western NC; SC; GA: Severe thunderstorms capable of damaging winds and a few tornadoes are possible Friday. I-16, I-20, I-24, I-26, I-40, I-64, I-75, I-77, I-81, I-85 potentially impacted.
— Eastern IL; most of IN; northwest and north-central KY; most of OH: Slight risk for Flash Flooding Friday and Friday night. 2-3 inches of rain generally expected. I-57, I-64, I-65, I-69, I-70, I-71, I-72, I-74, I-75, I-76, I-77, OH Turnpike, IN Toll Road potentially impacted.
— On Friday, expect strong to high winds from southern Michigan to northern Florida, basically down the I-75 corridor. Also expect High winds from Little Rock to Asheville along I-40. Numerous High Wind Warnings and Advisories will be issued.
