** Heads Up ** Ice storm continues today and tonight over much of Texas, southeast Oklahoma, Arkansas and western Tennessee. Roads in Texas, I-20 especially, may not clear out until Friday.

  • Heavy rains tonight and Thursday across the Lower Mississippi Valley and Deep South.
  • Chance of severe thunderstorms Thursday and Thursday night along the central Gulf Coast.
  • West Coast storms return starting Friday.
  • Brief but intense shot of cold for New York and New England Friday and Saturday. Dangerously low wind chills.

South-central OR Lake County: High Wind Watch Thursday evening through Friday morning. Gusts to 60 mph. US-395 impacted.

Northern CA Shasta Valley: High Wind Watch Thursday morning through Friday morning. Gusts to 60 mph. Includes I-5 between Grenada to Weed. I-5 impacted.

Northwest CA ridge tops and exposed coastal headlands: Wind Advisory Thursday afternoon and Thursday night. Gusts to 55 mph. US-101 impacted.

— Southern CA north, northeast and southwest of Los Angeles: Wind Advisory this morning. Gusts to 40 mph. I-5, I-10, I-15, US-101 impacted.


— West-central and northwest MT: Winter Weather Advisory through late this morning. Up to an additional 2 inches of snow. I-90 impacted.

Portions of central and south-central MT: Winter Weather Advisory through this afternoon for blowing and drifting snow. Wind gusts 40-60 mph. I-90 impacted.

Southeast WY: High Wind Warning and Winter Weather Advisory through this afternoon. Gusts to 70 mph. Extensive blowing and drifting snow will create ground blizzard conditions. I-25, I-80 impacted.

Southeast NM: Winter Weather Advisory through Thursday morning. Snow and freezing rain. Up to an inch of snow and 1/10th of an inch of ice. US-180, Carlsbad and the Guadalupe Mountains impacted.


Most of TX except far east, far south, and northwest Panhandle; central and eastern OK; AR; northern LA; northwest and north-central MS; western TN: ICE STORM Warnings, Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories through Thursday morning. Freezing rain and sleet continue. Ice accumulations 1/4 to 1/2 inch. Some snow up to an inch in northern and western parts of this region. Highest impacted regions along the I-20 / I-30 axis from Midland to Abilene to Dallas, Little Rock and Memphis. Roads may not clear until Friday. I-10, I-20, I-30, I-35, I-40, I-44, I-45 impacted.

Northeast and east-central TX; southwest AR; north-central and northwest LA: Flash Flood Watch through Thursday afternoon. Additional rainfall amounts of 1-3 inches possible. Heaviest rains tonight and Thursday. I-20, I-30, I-49 impacted.

South-central and southeast LA; coastal MS; southern AL; FL Panhandle: Strong to severe thunderstorms possible Thursday and Thursday night. Damaging wind gusts are the main threat but a tornado or two also possible. I-10, I-12, I-55, I-59, I-65 potentially impacted.


— MI UP Keweenaw Peninsula: Winter Weather Advisory this morning. 3-5 inches snow.

— Northern FL and much of the FL Gulf Coast; southeast and southern GA and adjacent coastal SC: Dense Fog Advisories through midday today. Major highways impacted include I-4, I-10, I-16, I-26, I-75, I-95.

— West-central NY downwind of Lake Ontario: Winter Weather Advisory through tonight for lake effect snow. Additional accumulations up to 4-9 inches. I-81 impacted.

Central, northern and eastern NY north of I-84; northern CT; RI; MA; VT; NH; ME: Wind Chill Watches Thursday night through Saturday. Wind chill values will range from -35 deg F in the lower Hudson Valley to -60 deg F in northern ME. All upstate NY roads north of I-84 and east of I-81 and all New England Highways impacted.
