  • High winds today across the Central Plains; snow for portions of Nebraska and Kansas.
  • Snow, sleet and freezing rain through Wednesday for Northern Minnesota and Wisconsin, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
  • Strong winds tomorrow for parts of the Midwest and Northeast.

Pacific:

— Southern CA Coastal Ranges from Santa Barbara south to the Mexico border: Wind Advisories for the mountains and passes through this afternoon. Gusts to 50 mph. I-5, I-8, I-10, I-15, US-101 impacted.

— Northern portion of CA/AZ border; southern and central portion of AZ/NV border: Wind Advisories today. Gusts to 45 mph. I-40, US-93 impacted.

Mountain:

— Western and central SD, except for southwest portion of state: Wind Advisories through this evening. Gusts to 50 mph. I-90 impacted.

— Southeast CO; northeast and east-central NM: High Wind Warnings (CO) and Advisories through this evening. Gusts. 50-60 mph. I-25 impacted.

— South-central NM Sacramento Mountains above 6000 feet: Winter Weather Advisory through late this evening. Total accumulation 4-6 inches. US-82 impacted.

Central:

— South-central SD: Wind Advisories through this evening. Gusts to 50 mph. I-90 impacted.

Northeast and south-central NE; north-central and southwest KS: Winter Weather Advisories through early afternoon. Snow will end from south to north in this region. 2-6 inches of snow possible with wind gusts 50-60 mph. I-29, I-35, I-70, I-80 impacted.

Eastern NE; central and southwest KS; central and western OK; northwest TX including the Panhandle: High Wind Warnings (western KS, western OK, north TX Panhandle) and Advisories through this evening. Wind gusts 50-60 mph. I-27, I-35, I-40, I-70, I-80 impacted.

— Northeast MN; northern WI: Winter Storm Warning (MN Arrowhead) and Advisories through tonight. 2-6 inches of snow and sleet, except 4-10 inches in the Arrowhead. Some freezing rain may mix in as well. I-35 impacted.

East TX; southeastern half of AR; almost all of LA; MS except southeast portion of state; southwest TN; west-central and northwest AL: Flood and Flash Flood Watches, Warnings and Advisories through tonight. Flash Flood threat will end from west to east with the passage of the cold front. Major highways impacted include: I-10, I-12, I-20, I-22, I-30, I-40, I-45, I-49, I-55, I-59.

— Southern and eastern LA; MS; southeast and central TN; almost all AL; far-western FL Panhandle; Wind Advisories through tonight. Gusts 40-45 mph. I-10, I-12, I-20, I-22, I-40, I-45, I-49, I-55, I-59 impacted.

Southern and eastern LA; central and southern MS; west-central and AL: A regional severe weather outbreak, including potential for strong tornadoes, is possible today into this evening. If you are camping in or driving through LA, MS or western AL today or this evening, please pay attention to National Weather Service Tornado and Thunderstorm Warnings and have a plan on how to stay safe. I-10, I-12, I-20, I-49, I-55, I-59 potentially impacted.

Eastern:

— Most of MI Upper Peninsula: Winter Weather Advisory this evening through Wednesday evening. Snow, sleet and freezing rain change to all snow. Accumulations 3-6 inches. US-2, US-41 impacted.

TN/NC Border: High Wind Warnings (TN) and Advisories (NC) this evening through Wednesday afternoon. Wind gusts 55-70 mph. I-26, I-40 impacted.

— Eastern and central NC; SC; most of GA; northern FL; southeast AL: Some severe storms possible on Wednesday.

— Eastern OH; western PA; far-west NY: Strong winds Wednesday afternoon gusting 40-50 mph. Wind Advisories Probable. Major highways impacted include: I-70, I-76, I-77, I-79, I-80, I-90, PA and OH Turnpikes, NY Thruway.
