  • A Nor’easter will continue to bring gusty winds, heavy snow to the higher elevations, heavy rain, and coastal flooding, to the Northeast through tonight.
  • Gusty winds will continue across the High Plains into the Southwest through Saturday.
  • Two Pacific storm systems will bring coastal rain and mountain snow over the Northwest through most of this week.

Pacific:

— CA Western Slopes Northern Sierras above 5500 feet: Winter Weather Advisories through this afternoon. Total accumulation of 4-7 inches snow expected. I-80, US-50 impacted.

South-central OR; eastern CA and adjacent western NV; Southern CA deserts and interior mountains to the Mexican border; southern NV: Wind Advisories continue today. Gusts generally 50-55 mph, except to 65 mph in normally wind-prone areas and gusts to 100 mph on the Sierra ridge lines. I-15, I-40, I-80, US-50, US-395, CA-58 impacted.

Mountain:

— Northwest and north-central MT: High Wind Warnings starting midday today through tonight. Gusts to 75 mph. I-15 impacted.

Southern, southeast and east-central UT; west-central CO along the I-70 corridor; northern and central AZ; northwest, north-central, central and northeast NM: Wind Advisories midday today through late this evening. Gusts to 50 mph. I-17, I-25, I-40, I-70 impacted.

Central:

Northwest, central, south-central ND; central SD; northeast NE: Wind Advisories late this morning through this evening. Gusts to 50 mph. I-29, I-90, I-94 impacted.

— Central KS: Wind Advisories late this morning through this evening. Gusts to 45 mph. I-35, I-70 impacted.

— Central and northeast OK; southeast KS: Slight risk of severe thunderstorms Wednesday late afternoon and evening. I-35, I-40, I-44 potentially impacted.

Eastern:

— Western NY, adjacent northeast PA: Wind Advisories late this morning through this evening. Gusts to 40 mph. I-81, I-88, I-90 / NY Thruway impacted.

— Northeast VT; northern NH and adjacent western ME: Wind Advisory through midday. Gusts 45-55 mph. I-91, I-93 impacted.

— Coastal RI and MA (including all of Cape Cod); Down East ME: High Wind Warnings (ME and Cape Cod) and Advisories through midday today. Gusts 45-65 mph. I-95 impacted.

Interior portions of NY, mostly west of I-87, north of the Capital District and excluding far-western portion of State; northeast PA; southern VT; northwest MA: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories through this afternoon. Total accumulations range from 4-6 inches at lower elevations to 8-18 inches at higher elevations. I-81, I-87, I-88, I-90 / NY Thruway impacted.

Extreme western MD; parts of eastern WV: Winter Weather Advisories through this afternoon. Up to 2-4 additional inches of snow and wind gusts to 45 mph. I-68 impacted.
