  • Dangerous heat is expected to extend from the Midwest to the Southeast through midweek.
  • Severe thunderstorms are expected over parts of the northern/central Plains, the Midwest, and the Mid-Atlantic.
  • Significant severe weather outbreak possible Wednesday for Wisconsin.
  • Expect winter-like winds across the much of Montana today and Wednesday.
  • Significant snow for the northern Rockies above 5000 feet today and tonight, including Glacier National Park.

Pacific:

— Northeast WA, northern ID: Flood Advisories through this afternoon due to excessive rainfall. I-90 potentially impacted.

— Southern CA Santa Barbara Coast: Wind Advisory today and tonight. Gusts to 50 mph. US-101 impacted.

Southern CA Ventura and Los Angeles County Mountains: High Wind Warning continues through midday today. Gusts to 60 mph. I-5 impacted.

— Southeast CA Deserts: Excessive Heat Warning Thursday. High temperatures 108-114 deg F. I-8, I-10 impacted.

Mountain:

— Northwest MT: Flood Watches through Wednesday morning for a combination of excessive rainfall and snowmelt.

Portions of northwest MT, including Glacier NP: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories this evening through Wednesday morning above 5000 feet. Snow accumulations will range from 3-8 inches at 5000 feet to potentially up to 2 feet of snow above 7000 feet.

— Central MT: Winter Weather Advisory through midday Wednesday above 6000 feet. 3-7 inches snow likely.

Central and northern MT east of the Rockies: High Wind Warnings through Wednesday morning. Gusts 60-65 mph. I-15, I-90 impacted.

Northern and northwestern boundaries of Yellowstone National Park; Yellowstone River through south-central MT: Flood Warnings continue through Thursday. Yellowstone NP remains closed to all visitors for at least today and Wednesday.

— Southeast ID: Wind Advisory today. Gusts to 45 mph. I-15, I-84 impacted.

Southeast WY: High Wind Warnings today. Gusts to 60 mph. I-25, I-80 impacted.

— Central CO from WY to NM: Wind gusts 30-45 mph this afternoon. I-25 impacted.

— Central, southwest and south-central AZ: Excessive Heat Warnings for Thursday. Temperatures 108-114 deg F. I-8, I-10 impacted.

Central:

Eastern ND and adjacent northwest MN: Severe Thunderstorm Watch until noon today. Tennis-ball sized hail and wind gusts to 70 mph possible. I-29, I-94 potentially impacted.

Eastern NE; southern MN; much of IA: Chance of severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds today. I-29, I-35, I-80, I-90 potentially impacted.

Central and northeastern IA; southeast MN; most of WI: Scattered severe thunderstorms expected Wednesday. Several tornadoes, large or very large hail and damaging winds are likely. Some tornadoes could be strong. I-29, I-35, I-43, I-90, I-94 potentially impacted.

— West-central OK: Wind Advisory today. Gusts to 40 mph. I-40 impacted.

— Southeast MN; much of WI; most of IA; IL; northern, central and eastern MO; TN; KY; northeast AR; northeast MS; most of AL; FL Panhandle: A combination of heat advisories and excessive heat warnings through Wednesday.

Eastern:

Northeast WV; northern, central and eastern VA; southeast MD; southern DE; eastern NC: Chance of severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds today. I-40, I-64, I-85, I-95 potentially impacted.

— Southern MI; IN; most of OH; KY; TN; most of NC; SC; GA; northern FL: A combination of heat advisories and excessive heat warnings through Wednesday.
