**High Impact Weather Days today and tomorrow ** Major late-season storm brings high winds, heavy snow and very cold temperatures to the Northern Rockies and Northern Plains. Significant severe weather outbreak likely today and especially Wednesday over the Southern Plains, the Mid-Missouri Valley, Mississippi Valley and into the Midwest.
- A major early spring storm will bring heavy snow and strong winds to the northern Inter-Mountain West and Northern Plains through Thursday.
- Much of North Dakota may see 1-2 feet of snow with blizzard conditions.
- Severe weather will impact large areas of the southern Plains, the lower to middle Mississippi Valley and the Midwest today and especially Wednesday. Some tornadoes may be strong.
- High winds continue in the central/southern High Plains and Southwest.

Pacific:
— OR Coastal Range above 1000 feet: Winter Weather Advisory today. Additional accumulations 2-4 inches. US-101 impacted.
— North-central and northeast OR Blue Mountains: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories today. Additional accumulations 2-5 inches. I-84 impacted.
— Northeast NV Elko County above 6000 feet: Winter Weather Advisories through late this morning. Up to 3 inches additional snowfall and wind gusts to 50 mph. I-80 impacted.
— Northeast NV: Wind Advisory today. Gusts to 50 mph. I-80 impacted.
— Southern CA Mountains from Santa Barbara to the Mexican Border; southern CA coastal areas from San Luis Obispo to Los Angeles; southern CA deserts including Imperial County, Joshua Tree NP and the Salton Sea: High Wind Warnings (mountains) and Advisories through late this morning. Wind gusts 60-75 mph in the mountains and 45-55 mph elsewhere. Major highways impacted include I-5, I-8, I-10, I-15, US-101.
Mountain:
— Central ID; most of MT except northwest corner of state; northern, western, and southern WY; northeast and central UT; much of the CO Rockies: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories through Wednesday. Accumulations generally 4-12 inches, except 1-2 feet in the Wasatch Mountains. Expect sustained periods of accumulating snow, wind gusts 35-50 mph, and very cold temperatures for mid-April. Major highways impacted include I-15, I-25, I-70, I-80, I-90, I-94.
— Southwest ID: Winter Weather Advisories today above 5000 feet. A few inches of snow and wind gusts to 45 mph.
— South-central and southwest ID along the I-84 corridor: Wind Advisories today. Gusts to 50 mph. I-84, I-86 impacted.
— Southeast WY: High Wind Warnings through this afternoon. Gusts to 65 mph. I-25, I-80 impacted.
— Eastern and southern UT; western CO; eastern AZ; all of NM; southeast and east-central CO: High Wind Warnings and Advisories today, and continuing tonight in NM. Winds gusting 55-70 mph. Blowing dust and suddenly near-zero visibility a hazard in AZ and NM on I-10, I-25 and I-40. I-10, I-25, I-40, I-70 impacted.
Central:
— Eastern MT; most of ND except southeast corner of state; northwest and north-central SD: Blizzard Warnings through Thursday evening. Snow accumulations 1-2 feet and wind gusts to 50 mph. I expect most highways will be closed or impassable. I-29 I-94 impacted.
— Northwest MN: Winter Storm Watch this afternoon through Thursday evening. Near-blizzard conditions possible.
— Most of SD: High Wind Warnings and Advisories this afternoon through Thursday. Gusts 50-55 mph. I-90 impacted.
— Most of KS; northwest MO; western, central and northern OK; TX Panhandle and far-west TX: High Wind Warnings and Advisories through this evening. Wind gusts 50-60 mph. I-10/20 split, I-35, I-40, I-70 impacted.
— Southern MO: Dense Fog Advisories through late this morning. I-44 impacted.
— Southern MN; southwest WI; IA; eastern NE; eastern KS; MO; central and eastern OK; AR; eastern TX; LA; western MS: Significant risk of severe thunderstorms developing in this region late Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday night. Very large hail, damaging winds and potentially strong tornadoes are the major threats. The areas at most risk are IA, eastern NE and northeast KS. Also northeast and north-central TX along the I-35 corridor.
— Southeast WI; southwest MI; IL; IN; western OH; the southeastern half of MO; western and central KY; most of TN; eastern OK; eastern TX; AR; LA; MS; the northwest half of AL: Numerous severe thunderstorms likely Wednesday and Wednesday night. Very large hail, damaging winds and potentially strong tornadoes are the major threats. Area of greatest threat lies along an axis from Chicago to Memphis to Baton Rouge.
Eastern:
— Northern OH; northeast IN: Dense Fog Advisory through late this morning. I-69, I-71, I-75, I-80/90/OH Turnpike impacted.
— OH, IN, western KY and TN: Strong wind gusts of 30-40 mph Wednesday. Advisories possible.
