  • Severe thunderstorms are expected from eastern Texas into the mid Mississippi Valley today. Storms will be capable of producing tornadoes, large hail, and damaging winds.
  • Heavy rainfall may also lead to flash flooding over the Southern Plains and into the Ozarks today.
  • Late season Pacific storms bring extensive rain and high elevation snow to the Pacific Northwest, and strong winds over northeast California and into the Great Basin.
  • On Friday storms will shift over the lower Mississippi into the Tennessee Valleys,

Pacific:

— South-central OR; northeast CA; CA northern and central Sierra Nevada and eastern slopes; northern , northwest and west-central NV: Wind Advisories midday today through Friday night. Gusts to 50-65 mph. Gusts up to 80-100 mph on Sierra Nevada ridge lines. I-80, US-50, US-395 impacted.

Mountain:

— Northwest and north-central MT; south-central MT Livingston and Beartooth Pass: Winds gusting 40-50 mph Friday. Wind Advisories likely. I-15, I-90 potentially impacted.

Southeast WY: High Wind Watch early Friday morning through Friday afternoon. Gusts to 65 mph. I-25, I-80 impacted.

Central:

— Much of eastern ND; northwest MN: Flood Warnings continue for river flooding through Friday. Some roads closed due to flooding. I-29 potentially impacted.

Central and eastern OK; southeast KS; southwest MO; northwest AR: Flood Warnings, Advisories and Watches through this evening. I-35, I-40, I-44 potentially impacted.

Southern MO; southeast OK; AR; far-western KY; western TN; east TX; northern and central LA; northwest and west-central MS: Severe thunderstorms likely today. Damaging winds, hail and a few tornadoes are all expected. I-20, I-30, I-35, I-40, I-45, I-49, I-55 potentially impacted.

— Southeast LA; southern MS; southern AL; FL Panhandle: Dense Fog Advisories through midmorning. I-10, I-12, I-20, I-55, I-59, I-65 impacted.

Eastern:

— Eastern KY; southern WV; southern VA; eastern TN; NC; SC; GA; AL; northern FL: Thunderstorms are likely on Friday. Some storms may be strong enough to produce hail and damaging wind gusts. A few tornadoes are also possible. Major highways potentially impacted include I-10, I-16, I-20, I-26, I-40, I-65, I-75, I-77, I-85, I-95.
