  • A slow moving storm system continues to advance to the east bringing a severe weather and flash flooding threat from the Midwest to the central Gulf Coast.
  • A Pacific storm system is expected to produce scattered severe thunderstorms beginning late this afternoon in the Northwest and Northern Rockies.
  • Widely scattered severe thunderstorms possible Friday along the I-95 Corridor from New York City to Savannah GA.

Pacific:

Northeast OR, southeast WA, and north-central ID: Isolated to widely scattered severe thunderstorms may occur today. Severe wind gusts and large hail are the primary threats. I-84, I-90 potentially impacted.

Mountain:

— Much of WY: Wind gusts 30-40 mph Friday afternoon. Advisories possible. I-25, I-80 impacted.

Central:

— Southeast LA; coastal MS and AL; FL Panhandle: Flood Watches through this afternoon for continued heavy rains. I-10, I-12, I-55, I-59, I-65 potentially impacted.

Eastern:

Much of OH and eastern KY: Isolated to widely scattered severe thunderstorms may occur today. Severe wind gusts and large hail are the primary threats. I-64, I-70, I-71, I-75, I-77, I-80 / OH Turnpike potentially impacted.

Northern GA; southeast TN; northwest SC: Isolated to widely scattered severe thunderstorms may occur today. Severe wind gusts and large hail are the primary threats. I-20, I-75, I-85 potentially impacted.

Eastern PA; NJ; most of MD; DE; DC; central and eastern VA; central and eastern NC; eastern SC: Widely scattered severe thunderstorms are possible on Friday. Damaging gusts and a couple of tornadoes are the primary threats with the stronger storms in the Chesapeake Bay region. I-26, I-40, I-64, I-66, I-70, I-80, I-81, I-84, I-95 / PA and NJ Turnpikes potentially impacted.
