Pacific:
— Most of CA except the immediate coast and mountains; southern NV: Excessive Heat Warnings and Watches continue through Wednesday. High temperatures will range from 105-115 deg F in many locations. I-5, I-8, I-10, I-15, I-40, I-80, CA-58, CA-99 among the highways impacted.
— Southeast CA and far-south NV, mostly bounded between I-15 and I-40: A marginal risk of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Damaging wind gusts possible. I-15, I-40 potentially impacted.
Mountain:
— Northwest AZ and south-central UT, Grand Canyon below 4000 feet and Glen Canyon below 5000 feet: Excessive Heat Warnings through Wednesday. Temperatures may reach 105 deg F in Glen Canyon and up to 115 deg F in Phantom Ranch, Grand Canyon.
— West-central AZ: A marginal risk of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Damaging wind gusts possible. I-40 potentially impacted.
— Portions of south-central AZ: Excessive Heat Warning through Wednesday. High temperatures 105-110 deg F. I-10, I-17 impacted.
— Northwest WY: Strong winds this afternoon with gusts 30-40 mph. Winds highest over exposed high elevations.
Central:
— South-central MO: Dense Fog Advisory this morning. I-44 impacted.
Eastern:
— Southeast IN; southwest OH; central and eastern KY; central and eastern TN: Flash Flood Watch through Monday evening for excessive rainfall. Rainfall rates could exceed 2 inches / hour. If you are camping near any small streams, creeks or low-lying areas, pay close attention to the forecast, any flood warnings, and directions from your local emergency management officials. Major highways potentially impacted include I-24, I-40, I-64, I-65, I-71, I-75.
— Heavy rains spread into central and eastern PA, southern NY and southern New England late tonight and continuing through Labor Day. Up to 1-2 inches of rain possible in some locations, creating a possibility for localized flash flooding.
