  • Rain, mountain snow, and a wintry mix for some high valley locations across the West.
  • High winds can be expected across the Southwest, Inter-mountain West and Rockies.
  • Storm moves to the Southern Plains on Monday bringing strong winds and substantial risk of a significant severe weather outbreak to eastern Texas, Louisiana and parts of Mississippi.

Pacific:

CA southern Sierra Nevada Mountains; southeast and southern CA deserts; coastal mountains northwest, north and northeast of Los Angeles; southern NV: High Wind Warnings (CA mountains) and Advisories through tonight. Wind gusts generally 45-50 mph except 60-65 mph in the Mountains and Passes. I-8, I-5, I-10, I-15, I-40, US-50, US-395, CA-58 impacted.

Northeast NV, south-central ID; northwest UT: High Wind Warnings and Advisories through Sunday evening. Wind gusts 50-65 mph. I-80, I-84, I-86 impacted. Strongest winds expected in south-central ID.

Mountain:

— Northeast NV, south-central ID; northwest UT: High Wind Warnings and Advisories through Sunday evening. Wind gusts 50-65 mph. I-80, I-84, I-86 impacted. Strongest winds expected in south-central ID.

— Portions of southwest and south-central MT; southeast ID along the WY border; north-central UT: Winter Weather Advisories through this evening. Accumulations generally 1-3 inches in the valleys and 3-8 inches over the passes and mountains. I-15, I-80, I-90 / Bozeman Pass and US-26 / Teton Pass impacted.

Portions of north-central, central and south-central UT; west-central, central, northeast and east-central AZ: High Wind Warnings, Watches and Advisories this afternoon through Monday evening. Wind gusts 50-60 mph. In general, winds will be strongest over UT tonight and over AZ on Monday. I-15, I-17, I-40, I-70 impacted.

— South-central and southeast CO and adjacent NM: Winter Storm Watch Monday and Monday night. 2-7 inches of snow expected and gusts to 45 mph. I-25 / Raton Pass impacted.

— NM: Strong wind gusts over much of the state Sunday afternoon and evening. Winds gusting 35-45 mph. Some advisories likely. I-10, I-25, I-40 impacted.

— West-central SD: Wind Advisories tonight. Gusts to 50 mph. I-90 impacted.

Central:

— Portions of west TX from the southern Panhandle to I-10: Wind Advisories this afternoon and tonight. Gusts 40-50 mph. I-10, I-20 impacted.

— TX Guadalupe and Delaware Mountains: High Wind Watch for Monday. Gusts to 70 mph.

Southeast OK; southwest AR; east TX; northwest and western LA: Increasing risk for flash flooding in portions of this region Monday and Monday night. Highest risk is over east TX. I-10, I-20, I-30, I-35, I-45, I-49 potentially impacted.

Eastern TX and adjacent western LA: Substantial severe weather outbreak probable starting Monday afternoon and continuing through Monday night. I-10, I-20, I-30, I-35, I-45 potentially impacted.

Western KY; western and central TN; eastern AR; LA; MS; most of AL: Heavy rainfall and flash flooding likely in portions of this region Tuesday and Tuesday night. Highest risk for flash flooding is northeast LA, central and northern MS and northwest AL. Major highways potentially impacted include I-10, I-12, I-20, I-22, I-24, I-40, I-49, I-55, I-59, I-64, I-65, I-69.

Most of LA, central and southern MS; west-central and southern AL: Significant risk of substantial severe weather, including long-lived and very strong tornadoes, Tuesday and Tuesday night. Currently, the region at highest risk is east-central LA, and central and southwest MS. If you. Are camping in or driving through LA, MS or western or southern AL Tuesday or Tuesday night, please pay attention to National Weather Service Tornado and Thunderstorm Warnings and have a plan on how to stay safe. I-10, I-12, I-20, I-55, I-59 potentially impacted.

— IA; eastern KS; eastern OK; eastern TX: Strong wind gusts Monday afternoon 30-45 mph. Advisories possible.

Eastern:

— Far-northern ME: Winter Weather Advisories continue for this morning. Up to an addition inch of wet snow possible.
