Travel & RV Weather Forecast Sunday 19 June


  • Hot temperatures will persist this weekend over the southern and central states while cooler air arrives in the Northeast and much of the West.
  • Early monsoon moisture will lead to isolated chances for flash flooding over parts of the Southwest.
  • Scattered severe thunderstorms are possible over the northern High Plains.

** Heads Up ** [Status from Saturday.] As of Sunday morning, ALL entrances to Yellowstone National Park remain CLOSED. Pacific:

— No significant impacts to RV travel today or Monday

Mountain:

Eastern MT, western ND: A few severe thunderstorms with damaging gusts and hail are possible this afternoon and evening. I-94 Impacted.

—Most of UT, southwest WY: Wind gusts to 45 mph this afternoon. I-15, I-70, I-80, I-84 impacted.

— Northern AZ: Wind Advisory late this morning through this evening. Gusts to 45 mph. I-40 impacted.

— Eastern NM: Flood Watch this afternoon and evening for excessive rainfall. I-25, I-40 potentially impacted.

— South-central NM, extreme west TX: Flood Watch Monday evening through Tuesday afternoon for excessive rainfall. I-10, I-25 potentially impacted.

Central:

Western ND; eastern MT: A few severe thunderstorms with damaging gusts and hail are possible this afternoon and evening. I-94 Impacted.

— Eastern ND and adjacent northwest MN: Excessive Heat Warning this afternoon: Heat index values as high as 105 deg F. I-29, I-94 impacted.

Eastern:

— No significant impacts to RV travel today or Monday.
