  • Severe thunderstorms are expected from the southern Plains into the Ohio Valley today. Scattered damaging wind gusts and large hail will be the primary threats.
  • Severe thunderstorm threat moves east to the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions on Monday.
  • Early season heat wave will extend from the Southwest through the Lower Mississippi Valley through the upcoming week.
  • Strong winds return to much of the Rocky Mountain region on Thursday.

Pacific:

— Southern CA Los Angeles County Mountains: Wind Advisories this afternoon through Monday morning. Gusts to 45 mph. I-5, I-10 impacted.

Mountain:

— No significant weather impacting RV travel today or Monday.

Central:

— Northeast ND and adjacent northwest MN: Wind advisory late this morning through this evening. Gusts to 45 mph.

— Northeast ND; along the ND/MN Border; north-central and northeast MN, including the Arrowhead: River flooding caused by excessive rainfall and snowmelt continues.

Eastern KS; eastern OK; central and southern MO; AR; southern IL; central and southern IN; western KY; western TN; northern MS: Severe thunderstorms are expected today. Locally damaging winds and hail will be the primary risks. Greatest risk expected along the I-44 corridor between Tulsa and St Louis. Major highways potentially impacted include I-30, I-40, I-44, I-55, I-57, I-64, I-65, I-70, I-75.

Eastern:

— Extreme southeast MA; southern RI; coastal CT; NY Long Island; central and southern NJ; DE; much of MD; DC; eastern WV; much of VA; northern and western NC: Dense Fog Advisories through mid to late morning. Major highways impacted include: I-40, I-64, I-66, I-68, I-70, I-77, I-81, I-85, I-95, NJ Turnpike.

NH; VT; central and western MN; most of NY; central and eastern PA; NJ; most of MD; DC; DE; central and eastern VA; northeast NC: Strong and severe thunderstorms expected Monday. Locally damaging wind and some hail will be the primary threats, although a tornado or two is possible Monday afternoon. Major highways impacted include: I-64, I-66, I-68, I-70, I-76, I-80, I-81, I-84, I-85, I-87, I-88, I-89, I-91, I-93, I-95, PA Turnpike, NJ Turnpike, NY Thruway, Mass Pike.
