  • The final round of severe thunderstorms for Montana is expected this afternoon and evening.
  • Heavy rainfall from slow moving storms may lead to several instances of flash flooding from the Baltimore-Washington Metro southward to central and eastern North Carolina through tonight.
  • Heat wave continues across the Lower Mississippi River Valley and southern Plains.

Pacific:

— Central, east-central and northeast NV: Winds gusting to 35 mph this afternoon and evening. I-80, US-50 impacted.

Mountain:

— Western UT: Winds gusting to 35 mph this afternoon and evening. I-15, I-80, I-84 impacted.

Much of MT along and east of I-15 and north of I-90: Scattered severe thunderstorms possible this afternoon and evening. Damaging wind gusts and large hail are the main threats. This should be the final day for widespread severe weather for MT. I-15, I-90, I-94 potentially impacted.

Central:

ND and adjacent northwest MN: Scattered severe thunderstorms possible this afternoon and evening. Damaging wind gusts and large hail are the main threats. I-29, I-94 potentially impacted.

— Southeast ND; eastern SD; most of MN; northwest WI: Isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms possible Sunday afternoon and evening. I-29, I-35, I-90, I-94 potentially impacted.

— Portions of northeast TX, southern and central AR; northern and central LA; northern and central MS; southwest TN: Excessive Heat Warnings this afternoon and evening. Heat index values 110 – 114 deg F. I-20, I-30, I-35, I-40, I-45, I-49, I-55 impacted.

Eastern:

— Central MD; DC; northern VA: Flood Watch continues through this afternoon due to excessive rainfall. I-66, I-70, I-83, I-95, Washington and Baltimore Beltways potentially impacted.

— Central and eastern NC and adjacent southeast VA: Heavy rains this afternoon and evening may cause localized flash flooding. I-40, I-85, I-95 potentially impacted.
