Travel & RV Weather Forecast Saturday 30 July


  • Locally heavy monsoon rains and flash flooding will extend from interior southern California, through the Southwest and Four Corners region to the Panhandles of Oklahoma and Texas the next couple of days.
  • Heavy rains return to southern and southeast Kentucky Sunday and Monday.
  • Heat wave impacts the Northwestern U.S.through this weekend.

Pacific:

— WA and northern OR east of the Cascades; southwest OR and interior northern CA; the greater Portland and Seattle regions; northern ID: Excessive Heat Warnings through Sunday. High temperatures will range from 95-110 deg F. I-5, I-82, I-84, I-90 impacted.

— Interior southern CA: Flood Watches this afternoon and evening for excessive rainfall. Monsoon-related showers and thunderstorms expand westward into CA over the next few days. Be very careful near normally dry washes and low-water crossings. I-8, I-10, I-15, I-40, CA-58 potentially impacted.

Mountain:

— Southwest ID Treasure Valley and Weiser River Basin: Excessive Heat Warning through Sunday evening. High temperatures 105-110 deg F. I-84 impacted.

— Northern and central AZ; northern and central NM: Flood Watches through early Sunday morning for slow-moving monsoonal thunderstorms. Be very careful near normally dry washes, slot canyons and low-water crossings. I-17, I-25, I-40 potentially impacted.

Central:

Portions of the TX Panhandle: Flood Advisory this morning for some minor flooding, especially in poor drainage areas. I-40 runs through this advisory.

— OK and northern TX Panhandles; north-central OK: Flood Watch through this evening for excessive rainfall from multiple rounds of heavy thunderstorms. I-40 is to the south of this region. I-35 potentially impacted.

Eastern:

— No significant weather impacts to RV travel today or Sunday.
