  • Severe storms are expected in the north-central Plains throughout the Holiday Weekend.
  • Strong winds this afternoon and evening across much of Interior California and the Four Corners region.
  • Significant snowfall in the northern Rockies above 7000-8000 feet Sunday and Monday. Snow also for the Oregon Cascade mountains.
  • Very warm conditions over the south-central Plains today. Warmth spreads into the Midwest and Northeast Monday and Tuesday.

Pacific:

— South WA and OR Cascade Mountains above 4500 feet this evening through midday Sunday: Winter Weather Advisory for wet snow. Expect 4-8 inches snow in the WA Cascades and 6-12 inches in OR. Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

South-central OR; northeast CA; northwest and west-central NV: Wind Advisory this afternoon and tonight. Wind gusts 40-55 mph. I-80, US-395 impacted.

— Southern CA South-Sierra eastern slopes and Owens Valley: Wind Advisory this afternoon and tonight. Wind gusts 40-50 mph. US-395 impacted.

Interior Southern CA Mojave Desert and adjacent southern NV: Wind Advisory late this morning through tonight. Winds gusting 45-55 mph. I-10, I-15, I-40, CA-58 impacted.

Interior Southern CA deserts south of I-10: Wind and Blowing Dust Advisories through Sunday night. Gusts 45-60 mph. I-8 impacted.

Mountain:

— Central ID above 7000 feet: Winter Weather Advisories Sunday and Sunday night. Up to 5-10 inches of wet snow expected.

— South-central MT: Winter Storm Warning Sunday morning through midday Tuesday for Absaroka and Beartooth Mountains above 8000 feet. 1-3 feet of snow likely. Wind gusts to 35 mph.

— South-central MT; north-central WY: Winter Storm Watch for Big Horn Mountains above 8000 feet Sunday evening through Tuesday afternoon. Up to 12-18 inches snow possible. Wind gusts to 35 mph.

— South-central WY: Wind gusts 35-45 mph this afternoon and evening. Advisories possible. I-80 impacted.

Much of eastern UT and western CO; central and northern AZ and adjacent NM: Wind Advisories late this morning through this evening. Gusts to 50 mph. I-15, I-17, I-40, I-70 impacted.

Northeast, central and south-central NM: Wind Advisories midday today through this evening. Gusts 50-55 mph. I-25, I-40 impacted.

— Southern UT; northern AZ; central and southern CO; most of NM: Wind gusts 35-50 mph Sunday afternoon and evening. Advisories probable. I-15, I-17, I-25, I-40, I-70 impacted.

Central:

Most of central and southern SD; north-central NE: Thunderstorms associated with damaging wind gusts and large hail are expected today. A few wind gusts over 75 mph may occur. I-90 potentially impacted.

Southeast ND; much of MN; eastern SD; NE; northwest IA: Scattered severe thunderstorms are likely Sunday and Sunday night. Significant severe weather including very large hail and hurricane-force gusts are possible with the strongest storms. Several tornadoes are also possible. I-29, I-35, I-80, I-90, I-94 potentially impacted.

— Eastern ND; MN; western and central IA; northeast MO; central and eastern KS; north-central OK: Scattered severe thunderstorms are expected Monday and Monday night. Tornadoes, perhaps a few strong tornadoes, large to giant hail, and severe gusts are possible. I-29, I-35, I-70, I-80, I-90, I-94 potentially impacted.

— Eastern OK, southeastern KS: Wind gusts this afternoon 30-35 mph. Advisories not expected. I-29, I-35, I-40, I-44 impacted.

— OK; southern and eastern KS; much of MO and IA; southeast MN; southwest WI; northwest IL: Wind gusts Sunday afternoon 35-45 mph. Some Advisories likely. I-35, I-40, I-44, I-70, I-80, I-90 impacted.

Eastern:

— No significant weather for RV Travel today or Sunday.
