  • Tropical Storm Fiona is east of Puerto Rico and strengthening. RV’ers in Florida and the Southeast should stay aware of the storm, especially next week; currently no need to change any plans.
  • Slight risk of severe thunderstorms over the upper Mississippi and mid-Missouri Valleys this afternoon and evening.
  • Northern and central California will see their first winter rains of the season starting tonight.

Pacific:

— Northern and central CA: The first west coast storm of the upcoming winter will produce periods of rain and rain showers over northern and central CA starting tonight and continuing into early next week.

— CA central Sierra Nevada; central, east-central and northeast NV: Strong winds Sunday afternoon and evening. Gusts 30-40 mph. I-80, US-50 impacted.

Mountain:

— Western UT: Strong winds Sunday afternoon and evening. Gusts 30-40 mph. I-15, I-80 impacted.

Central:

Most of MN; northwest WI; IA; northwest MO; central and northeast KS: Isolated severe thunderstorms this afternoon through tonight. Damaging winds, hail and an tornado or two all possible. Greatest chance for tornadoes over central MN. I-29, I-35, I-70, I-80, I-90, I-94 potentially impacted.

— Southern IA; northern MO; northern IL: Isolated severe thunderstorms expected Sunday afternoon and evening. Damaging winds, hail and a tornado or two all possible. Major highways potentially impacted include I-35, I-55, I-57, I-74, I-80, I-88.

— North-central MN and the Arrowhead: Dense Fog Advisories this morning. I-35 impacted.

Eastern:

— West-central, north-central and northeast IL; most of the MI Lower Peninsula: Isolated severe thunderstorms expected Sunday afternoon and evening. Damaging winds and hail are possible. I-65, I-69, I-70, I-74, I-75, I-80/90, I-94, I-96 potentially impacted.
