  • Severe weather across portions of the lower Mississippi Valley and Southeast today. Rainfall could be locally heavy with the threat of flooding.
  • A series of Pacific storms will track across the western United States with valley rain and mountain snow; more snow expected across the northern Plains Sunday.
  • Strong winds today across the California deserts, Great Basin and into the Four Corners States.

Pacific:

— Much of OR, higher elevations of northern CA; CA Sierra Nevada Mountains above 6000 feet: Winter Weather Advisories through this afternoon. Additional accumulations range from 1-3 inches in valleys to 4-8 inches at higher elevations. I-5, I-10, I-84, US-50, US-101 impacted.

— Northern ID: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories this afternoon through Sunday morning. Accumulations range from 2-5 inches in the valleys to 6-9 inches above 3000 feet. I-90 impacted.

— Southeastern OR; southwestern ID; northern NV: Wind Advisories through this evening. Gusts to 50 mph. I-80, I-84 impacted.

CA Eastern Slope Sierras and adjacent west-central NV, including the Reno Area; southeast CA deserts; southern NV: High Winds Warnings and Advisories today. Wind gusts 50-75 mph. I-80, US-50, US-395 impacted.

Mountain:

— Northern MT: Winter Weather Advisories this afternoon through midday Sunday. Snow accumulations generally in the 2-4 inches range. Wind gusts to 35 mph. I-15, I-90 impacted.

Southeast WY: High Wind Warnings and Watches late tonight though Sunday afternoon. Gusts to 65-70 mph. I-25, I-80 impacted.

Central and southern UT; northern and central AZ; adjacent western CO; northwest NM: Wind Advisories through Saturday evening. Gusts 50-55 mph. I-15, I-17, I-40, I-70 impacted.

Central:

— Northern ND, adjacent northeast MT: Winter Storm Watch late tonight through Sunday evening. Potential accumulations 5-8 inches and wind gusts to 40 mph.

Eastern OK, most of AR except northeast portion of state: Severe Thunderstorm Watch through mid-morning. Large hail and wind gusts to 70 mph possible. I-30, I-40 potentially impacted.

Southern AR; northern LA; central MS: Widely scattered strong thunderstorms may bring large hail and damaging wind gusts today and this evening. I-20, I-30, I-49, I-55, I-59 potentially impacted.

— Southern AR; northern and eastern LA; southern MS; southwest AL: A few thunderstorms may produce large hail and damaging wind gusts Sunday afternoon and evening.

Eastern:

— No significant weather issues for RV travel today or Sunday.
