- Heavy snow is expected along the I-81 corridor from central VA northward to New York and into interior New England.
- Severe thunderstorms and a couple of tornadoes possible along the NC coast and northern and central FL through midday today.
- Widespread strong wind gusts 40-50 mph from Florida to Massachusetts, and westward to the Appalachians.
- Rain for the Pacific Northwest this afternoon and tonight; snow for the Cascades.
- Strong winds for much of eastern California today.

Pacific:
— WA southern Cascades and OR Cascades: Winter Weather Advisories tonight and Sunday above 3000 feet. 7-14 inches snow likely.
— South-central OR; northeastern and eastern CA (east of the Sierra Nevada) and adjacent northeast NV; east slopes of the southern CA Sierra Nevada; CA Mojave Desert: High Wind Warnings (south-central OR), Watches (east slopes southern Sierra Nevada) and Advisories this afternoon through Sunday. High winds start in the north of this area and work their way southwards. Wind gusts to 65 mph in south-central OR and along the east slopes of the southern Sierra, and 45-55 mph elsewhere. I-15, I-40, I-80, US-395, CA-58 impacted.
Mountain:
— Northwest, central and south-central MT: High Wind Warnings, Watches and Advisories through tonight. Gusts 50-75 mph, with highest wind gusts along the Rocky Mountain Front and the Beartooth Foothills and Livingston area. I-15, I-90 impacted.
— Southeast WY: High Wind Wind Warnings and Watches midday today through late this evening. Gusts 60-70 mph. I-25, I-80 impacted.
Central:
— Southwest and west-central ND; western and central SD: Wind Advisories today. Gusts to 50 mph. I-90, I-94 impacted.
— Northeast SD, northwest MN: Winter Weather Advisories this afternoon and late this evening for up to 2 inches of new snow, blowing snow, and gusts up to 45 mph. I-29 impacted.
— Southeast TX; central and southern LA; central and southern MS; AL; FL Panhandle: Wind Advisories today. Gusts 35 – 40 mph. Major highways impacted include. I-10, I-12, I-20, I-45, I-49, I-55, I-59, I-65.
Eastern:
— Central and eastern TN; eastern KY; WV; southern and eastern OH; western and central MD; PA; DC; northern DE; western and northern NJ; NY except Long Island; western CT; central and western MA; VT; most of NH; interior ME: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories today and tonight. Storm will end from the south and west to the north and east of this region. Total accumulations range from 3-7 inches in the southern and central portions of this region to 6-12 inches in northern NY and interior New England. Widespread wind gusts of 30-45 mph will create blowing and drifting of the snow and greatly lower visibility. Major highways impacted include: I-40, I-64, I-65, I-68, I-70, I-75, I-76, I-77, I-79, I-80, I-81, I-84, I-87, I-88, I-89, I-91, I-93, I-95, I-99, PA Turnpike, NJ Turnpike, NY Thruway and Mass Pike. Check your state DOT / 511 information for towing restrictions and road status.
— Most of GA, FL, SC; eastern and western NC; western, northern and eastern VA; MD; DC; DE; eastern PA; NJ; southern NY including Long Island; portions of CT; RI; MA: Wind Advisories today through late this evening. Wind gusts 40-55 mph. Strongest winds near the coast and north of I-70. Similar highways impacted as discussed above.
— Northern and central FL: Tornado Watch until 11 a.m. this morning. Wind gusts to 70 mph and a few tornadoes possible. I-4, I-75, I-95 potentially impacted.
— Tidewater VA; eastern NC; northeast SC: Tornado Watch through 1 p.m. this afternoon. Wind gusts to 75 mph and a couple of tornadoes possible. I-40, I-64 potentially impacted. I-95 is just to the west of this region.
