  • Heavy rain with localized flooding, strengthening winds, and severe thunderstorms are expected across the Southeast today and tonight.
  • Wet snow, sleet and some freezing rain is expected to develop over the central and southern Appalachians tonight and continue through Sunday.
  • Heads up I-40: Winter conditions likely across the Southwest Monday night through Wednesday.

Pacific:

— Southeast CA east of the southern Sierra Nevada range: Wind Advisory today and tonight. Gusts 40-50 mph. US-395 impacted.

— CA northern and central Sierra Nevada range: Light snow through this afternoon. Maybe an inch or two accumulation at pass level. Minimal impacts to I-80, US-50.

— Southern CA San Diego County mountains above 4000 feet: Winter Weather Advisory Sunday afternoon and Sunday night. Snow showers. I-8 likely impacted.

Mountain:

Northwest MT along and east of the Rocky Mountain Front: High Wind Watch Sunday evening through Monday afternoon. Gusts to 80 mph. I-15 potentially impacted.

— West-central and southwest NM: Strong winds Monday afternoon and Monday night. Gusts 30-40 mph. I-10, I-40 impacted.

Central:

— East-central AL: Wind Advisory this afternoon and tonight. Gusts to 40 mph. I-20, I-85 impacted.

Eastern:

— Much of northern and central GA: Wind Advisories this afternoon and tonight. Gusts to 40 mph. I-16, I-20, I-75, I-85 impacted.

Eastern and central FL Panhandle; southwest GA: Flood Watch through late tonight for heavy rainfall. Up to and additional 1-3 inches of rain possible. I-10, I-75 potentially impacted.

North-central and northern FL: Damaging winds gusts and a couple of tornadoes are possible this afternoon and evening. I-10, I-75, I-95 potentially impacted.

Southwest VA and eastern KY: Winter Weather Advisories this evening through midnight Sunday. Snow, mixed with sleet and freezing rain. Accumulations generally 1-2 inches except up to 4 inches at higher elevations. I-77, I-81 impacted.

Western NC and adjacent eastern TN: Winter Storm Warnings tonight through midnight Sunday. 2-6 inches snow above 3000 feet; highest elevations may see nearly a foot of snow. Wind gusts to 40 mph. I-26, I-40 impacted.

— NC: Strong winds Sunday morning. Gusts 30-40 mph. I-26, I-40, I-73, I-77, I-85, I-95, US-52 impacted.
