** Heads Up ** RVers in or traveling through the Southwest, Rockies, Great Basin or Inter-Mountain West Tuesday or Wednesday should be prepared for high winds and significant snow accumulations above 5000 feet. The I-10 route west will not be impacted, nor will most of California west of the Sierra Nevada and south of Redding.


  • Winter storm moves through the Pacific Northwest and drops into the Great Basin Tuesday before heading to the Rockies. Expect significant snows above 5000 feet and high winds.
  • Fog this morning along much of the California Coast.
  • Extensive fog this morning in the Midwest, Gulf Coast, and Southeast.

Pacific:

— A portion of west-central WA: Flash Flood Watch through this morning for excessive rainfall. I-90 potentially impacted.

— Northeast OR and adjacent southeast WA Blue Mountains above 3000 feet: Winter Weather Advisory Tuesday and Tuesday night. Accumulations of 4-10 inches are likely with highest amounts in the north. I-84 impacted.

— Southern OR Cascades (east of I-5) above 4000 feet: Winter Weather Advisory this evening through Wednesday. Total snow accumulation 6-10 inches.

— Northern CA Trinity County (west of I-5) above 3000 feet: Winter Weather Advisory Tuesday. Snow accumulations 2-4 inches.

CA Sierra Nevada Mountains above 5500 feet: Winter Storm Watches late tonight through Wednesday. Snow accumulations will range from 3-5 inches at 5500 feet to 5-12 inches above 7000 feet. Wind gusts 45-50 mph except near 100 mph along the high ridge lines. I-80, US-50 impacted.

— Coastal CA from the Bay Area, to the Monterey Peninsula and Salinas Valley, to Point Conception: Dense Fog Advisories this morning. US-101, CA-1 impacted.

— East Central NV Great Basin: Winter Weather Advisory Wednesday and Wednesday night. Snow accumulations 3-8 inches.

Most of central and southern NV; southeast CA along and north of CA-58/I-40: Wind Advisories Tuesday afternoon and evening. Gusts 45-50 mph. I-15, I-40, US-50, US-395, CA-58 impacted.

Mountain:

Southwest MT: High Wind Watch Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday night. Gusts to 60 mph. I-15 impacted.

South-central MT Beartooth Foothills and Livingston Area: Wind Advisory continues through Tuesday morning. Gusts to 60 mph. I-90 impacted between Livingston and Big Timber.

South-central WY: High Wind Watch Tuesday evening through Wednesday afternoon. Gusts to 60 mph. I-80 impacted.

Western UT along and to the west of I-15: High Wind Watch Tuesday afternoon and evening. Gusts to 55 mph. I-15, I-80 impacted.

— Northwest AZ: Wind Advisory Tuesday afternoon and evening. Gusts to 45 mph. I-40 impacted.

Central:

— Coastal southwest LA and adjacent TX Gulf Coast: Dense Fog Advisories this morning. I-10 impacted.

— Central and northeast IL: Dense Fog Advisory this morning. Major highways impacted include I-39, I-55, I-57, I-72, I-74, I-80, I-94.

— Much of central and northern AL: Dense Fog Advisories this morning. I-20, I-22, I-59, I-65, I-85 impacted.

Eastern:

—Northwest and northern IN; adjacent southern MI; northwest OH: Dense Fog Advisories this morning. I-65, I-80/90, I-94, Ohio Turnpike, Indiana Toll Road impacted.

— North-central and northeastern FL; southeast GA: Dense Fog Advisories this morning. I-10, I-75, I-95 impacted.
