** Heads Up ** Regional tornado outbreak possible Tuesday afternoon and evening across the Mid- and Lower-Mississippi Valley. Some tornadoes may be strong or long-lived. Have at least two different ways to get NOAA weather warnings; know where you can shelter in emergency from severe weather; get off the road if you are in a tornado warning box.   • Storm pushes south across the Western U.S. today with mountain snow and areas of high winds. High winds expected across New Mexico on Tuesday.
  • On Tuesday, there is potential for severe thunderstorms with tornadoes and excessive rainfall in the lower to mid Mississippi River Valley.
  • Heavy snow is possible in parts of the upper Midwest on Tuesday.

Pacific:

WA Cascades: Winter Storm Warnings continue this morning. Additional accumulations of 3-6 inches. I-90 impacted.

— OR Cascades: Winter Storm Warnings continue today. Additional accumulations of 12-20 inches snow likely. Wind gusts to 40 mph.

Central OR; northeast OR Blue Mountains; southeast WA; northern ID: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories continue today. In general snow accumulations of a few inches below 4000 feet, 4-7 inches above 4000 feet and 8-15 inches at higher elevations in the Blue Mountains. Wind gusts of 45 mph. I-84, I-90 impacted.

— Northeast NV and adjacent southwest WY: Winter Weather Advisory today and tonight. 2-5 inches snow likely. Wind gusts to 30 mph. This advisory is to the north of I-80.

CA southern Sierra Nevada eastern slopes: Wind Advisory through this evening. Gusts to 60 mph. US-395 impacted.

Southern CA interior deserts: Wind Advisories today and tonight. Wind gusts 45-60 mph. I-5, I-8, I-10, I-15, I-40, CA-58 impacted.

CA Santa Barbara Coast: Wind Advisory this afternoon and tonight. Gusts to 50 mph. US-101 impacted.

Mountain:

Western and southwest MT and adjacent eastern ID: Winter Weather Advisories today. Additional snow accumulation of 3-7 inches likely. I-15, I-90 impacted.

— Western WY and adjacent eastern ID: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories through Tuesday. Snow accumulations range from 10-16 inches in Yellowstone, the Tetons and Gros Ventre rangers, to 3-6 inches in the valleys. Wind gusts 35-50 mph.

North-central, central and southwest UT: Winter Weather Advisories through Tuesday. 5-12 inches of snow. I-15, I-70, I-80 impacted.

Southeast and south-central WY; north-central, central and southwest CO: Winter Storm Warnings (Elkhead and Park Mountains) and Advisories (elsewhere) midday today through Tuesday. Accumulations will range from 3-5 inches on the High Plains of southeast WY and the CO Foothills to 12-18 inches in the WY and CO mountains. Wind gusts to 35-45 mph. I-25, I-70, I-80 impacted.

Portions of north-central, central and eastern AZ: Wind Advisories midday today and tonight. Gusts 50-55 mph. I-17, I-40 impacted.

Portions of western, central and east-central NM: High Wind Watches for Tuesday. Gusts to 60 mph. I-25, I-40 impacted.

Central:

Western and northern NE; Winter Weather Advisories this evening through Tuesday evening. 2-4 inches of snow with gusts to 35 mph. I-80 impacted.

Southeast SD; southwest MN; northeast IA: Winter Weather Advisories Tuesday for snow and freezing rain. 2-4 inches snow and a glaze of ice. Wind gusts to 35 mph. I-29, I-90 impacted.

Northern WI and adjacent east-central MN; western MI Upper Peninsula: Winter Storm Watches Tuesday. 4-10 inches snow possible. I-35, US-2, US-8, US-51, US-53 impacted.

— South TX: Dense Fog Advisories this morning. I-2, I-35, I-37, US-77 impacted.

— Southeast LA: Dense Fog Advisory through mid-morning. I-10, I-12, I-55 impacted.

Western KY; western and central TN; the southeastern half of AR; most of MS, LA and adjacent eastern TX; eastern TX; northwest AL: Severe thunderstorms with tornadoes and wind damage, and also hail, is likely Tuesday afternoon and evening. Strong, long-track tornadoes are possible. Greatest risk of severe weather will be along the Mississippi Valley from Memphis TN to Vicksburg MS. I-10, I-12, I-20, I-24, I-30, I-40, I-49, I-55, I-57, I-59 potentially impacted.

— Much of MO, IL, western IN: Strong winds midday Tuesday. Gusts 30-45 mph. Advisories possible. I-35, I-39, I-44, I-55, I-57, I-64, I-65, I-69, I-70, I-72, I-74, I-80, I-88 impacted.

Eastern:

— No significant weather impacts to RV travel today or Tuesday.
