** Heads Up ** RVers in northern, central and coastal California prepare for another round of very heavy rain and significant flooding Wednesday night and Thursday. Be alert to the tornado threat today, tonight and Tuesday anywhere from east Texas and Oklahoma eastward to Alabama. I-10, I-20, I-30, I-40, I-59 under particular threat.


  • Heavy rains and likely extensive flooding return to California Wednesday night and Thursday.
  • Tornado (some strong) threat today, tonight and Tuesday from eastern Texas and Oklahoma eastward to Alabama.
  • Snow and ice storm for the Western, Central and Northern Plains today and Tuesday.

Pacific:

— Central, south-central WA and north-central OR: Freezing Fog Advisories through midday today. I-82, I-84, I-90, US-395 impacted.

Northern CA above 2000 feet: Winter Weather Advisories through this evening. 2-7 inches snow expected. I-5 impacted.

CA Sierra Nevada Mountains above 3000 feet: Winter Weather Advisories mid-morning through tonight. 2-6 inches snow above 3000 ft; 5-9 inches snow above 5000 feet. I-80, US-50 impacted.

Central CA Southern Sacramento County south of Sacramento and northwest of Lodi along the I-5 corridor: FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS and Watches remain in effect today. I-5 impacted.

Much of northern and central CA; coastal southern CA: Heavy rains and likely flash flooding and flooding return Wednesday night and Thursday with the next strong Pacific storm. An additional 1-4 inches of rain possible in many areas. Major highways likely impacted include I-5, I-80, US-101, CA-1, CA-99.

Mountain:

Central, eastern, southern and southwest WY; northeast UT; northern and western CO; north-central NM: Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories through late this evening and tonight. Additional accumulations range from 2-6 inches in UT and CO and 5-10 inches in WY. Wind gusts to 45 mph. Some freezing rain possible in northeast CO. I-25, I-70, I-76, I-80 impacted.

Southeast WY: High Wind Watch Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday evening. Gusts to 65 mph. Includes I-80 between Laramie and Rawlins and I-25 between Chugwater and Wheatland. I-25, I-80 impacted.

Portions of east-central AZ and western NM: Winter Weather Advisories continue today, mostly above 6000 feet. Up to 2 inches additional accumulation. Wind gusts to 45 mph. I-40 impacted.

Much of eastern, southeast and south-central NM; far-west TX: Wind Advisories today. Gusts to 50 mph. I-10, I-25 (near Santa Fe), I-40 impacted.

Central:

Southern and eastern SD; most of NE except southeast corner of the state; central and southern MN; central and northwest WI: Winter Storms Warnings and Advisories today and Tuesday. 5-16 inches snow and wind gusts to 35 mph. Some freezing rain may mix in, especially towards the south and east. I-29, I-35, I-80, I-90, I-94 impacted.

West-central, northwest and north-central IA: ICE STORM Warning midday today through Tuesday. 1/4 to 1/2 inch of freezing rain (ice), up to 6 inches of snow and wind gusts to 35 mph. I-35, I-80 impacted.

— Eastern TX; northern, northwest and western LA; southern, central and eastern AR and adjacent western MS; southeast MO; far-western KY; western TN: Flood Watches midday today through Tuesday morning for excessive rainfall. I-10, I-20, I-30, I-40, I-49, I-55 potentially impacted.

— Southwest LA and adjacent eastern TX: Wind Advisories midday today through this evening. Gusts to 30 mph. I-10, I-49 impacted.

Eastern TX; eastern OK; southeast KS; AR; southern MO; central, western and northern LA; western TN; northwest MS: Severe Thunderstorms expected today and tonight. Damaging wind gusts and some STRONG TORNADOES will be the primary threats. I-10, I-20, I-30, I-40, I-45, I-49 potentially impacted.

Central and southeast LA; MS; AL; south-central TN; western FL Panhandle: Severe thunderstorms expected Tuesday. Damaging wind gusts and a few STRONG TORNADOES possible. I-10, I-12, I-20, I-22, I-49, I-59, I-65, I-85 potentially impacted.

— Extensive fog and drizzle this morning from OK and KS northwest though MO to IL, IN and southern MI.

Eastern:

Along the TN/NC border: High Wind Watch Tuesday. Gusts to 55 mph. I-26, I-40 impacted.

— Central NC; SC; eastern, central and southern GA; most of the FL Panhandle: Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms possible Wednesday. I-10, I-16, I-20, I-26, I-40, I-74, I-75, I-77, I-85, I-95 potentially impacted.

— Extensive fog this morning in the Southeast and Gulf Coast States, including most of the FL Peninsula.
