**Heads up ** The severe weather outbreak this afternoon and evening over Eastern New York and adjacent New England, southward to the DELMARVA Peninsula may be significant with numerous severe thunderstorms, winds, hail, and a few tornadoes.
- Scattered severe storms may produce damaging winds, hail, a few tornadoes, and isolated flash flooding from central New York/western New England southward into the Carolinas today.
- Early season heat wave will persist through the week bringing record-breaking temperatures across the Southwest through the Southern Plains.
- High elevation snows and strong winds return to the Pacific Northwest and much of the Rocky Mountain region on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.

— Southern CA Santa Barbara County and Santa Ynez Mountains: High Wind Warnings and Advisories through tonight. Gusts 45-60 mph. Winds will be strongest this afternoon and tonight. US-101 CA-1 impacted.
— Southern CA Los Angeles County Mountains: Wind Advisories this afternoon through Tuesday morning. Gusts to 45 mph. I-5, I-10 impacted.
— Southern CA Mojave Desert. Wind Advisory through tonight. Gusts to 50 mph. CA-58 impacted.
Mountain:
— Northeast NM and TX Panhandle: Scattered severe storms expected today with large hail and severe wind gusts. I-27, I-40 impacted. I-25 is just to the west of this area.
Central:
— TX Panhandle and northeast NM: Scattered severe storms expected today with large hail and severe wind gusts. I-27, I-40 impacted.
— Southern and eastern NE; northern and eastern KS; southeast IA; northwest MO: Isolated to widely scattered severe thunderstorms expected Tuesday and Tuesday night. I-29, I-35, I-70, I-80 potentially impacted.
Eastern:
— Central PA; western MD; extreme northeast WV and adjacent VA: Dense Fog Advisories through mid-morning. I-68, I-70, I-76, I-80, I-81, I-99, PA Turnpike impacted.
— Much of coastal ME: Dense Fog Advisory through mid-morning. I-95 impacted.
— NH; VT; central and western MN; most of NY; central and eastern PA; NJ; most of MD; DC; DE; central and eastern VA; northeast NC: Scattered to numerous severe thunderstorms expected today. Damaging winds, hail and a few tornadoes possible through this evening. Major highways potentially impacted include: I-64, I-66, I-68, I-70, I-76, I-80, I-81, I-84, I-85, I-87, I-88, I-89, I-91, I-93, I-95, PA Turnpike, NJ Turnpike, NY Thruway, Mass Pike.
