  • Monsoon rains may create flash flooding in areas of the Southwest, Four Corners and Great Basin.
  • Severe storms are possible in the Ohio Valley today and upper Mississippi Valley Tuesday.
  • Strong winds are likely over parts of Montana today and especially Tuesday.

Pacific:

— Western WA; northern ID; west-central and southwest OR: Excessive Heat Warnings today. I-82, I-84, I-90 impacted.

— Southern CA Riverside and San Bernardino County mountains, and southeast CA, including the Mojave Desert; south-central, central and northeast NV: Flood Watches through this evening. Flash Flooding from heavy monsoon thunderstorms possible. Be very careful near normally dry washes and low-water crossings. I-5, I-10, I-15, I-40, I-80, US-50, CA-58 potentially impacted.

Mountain:

— Southwest ID Treasure Valley and Weiser River Basin: Excessive Heat Warning through this evening. High temperatures could reach 108 deg F. I-84 impacted.

— North-central and eastern MT: Strong winds this afternoon and early this evening. Gusts to 35 mph. I-94 impacted.

— Northern and central MT east of the Rockies: Strong winds Tuesday afternoon. Gusts 35-45 mph. I-90, I-94 impacted.

— Portions of central, west-central and north-central NM: Flood Watches through this evening for slow-moving monsoonal thunderstorms. Be very careful near normally dry washes, slot canyons and low-water crossings. I-25 potentially impacted.

Central:

— Northwest WI and adjacent MN: Severe thunderstorms possible late Tuesday afternoon through the overnight hours. Damaging winds and large hail are the main threats. I-35, I-94 potentially impacted.

Eastern:

Southeast KY: Flood Watches and Advisories continue through this morning. Avoid camping near streams and rivers; do not drive through or across flooded roads and please follow directions of local emergency management officials. I-75 potentially impacted.

Southern IN; central and southwest OH; central and north-central KY: Scattered severe thunderstorms possible today. Damaging winds are the primary threat. I-64, I-65, I-69, I-70, I-71, I-74, I-75 potentially impacted.
