  • Strong gusty winds expected from the western Central Plains into the Southwest.
  • Blizzard conditions, including heavy snow, strong winds, and freezing rain will impact travel across the northern Plains into Sunday.
  • Severe thunderstorms expected across parts of the Great Plains into Upper Midwest late this afternoon through tonight. Greatest risk from the Texas Panhandle into north-central Nebraska.

— CA Sierra Nevada above 5000 feet: Winter Storm Warnings continue through midday today. Additional snow accumulations 1-3 inches. I-80, US-50 impacted.

Southern CA Ventura and Los Angeles County Mountains: Wind Advisory this afternoon through Saturday morning. Gusts to 55 mph. I-5, I-10 impacted.

— Much of interior southern CA and southern NV: Wind Advisories today. Gusts 45-55 mph. I-8, I-10, I-15, I-40, CA-58 impacted.

— Northeast NV: Wind Advisory this afternoon through midday Saturday. Gusts to 50 mph. I-80 impacted.

— Northeast and east-central NV: Winter Weather Advisories above 6000 feet through midday today. Total accumulations 3-5 inches snow likely at pass levels. I-80 impacted.


— Southwest ID: Wind Advisory this afternoon and evening. Gusts to 45 mph. I-84 impacted.

Parts of eastern ID; central and southwest MT; central and northwest WY; northeast and southwest UT: Winter Storm Warnings (MT) and Advisories today through Saturday. Snow accumulations 4-10 inches at lower elevations and 1-2 feet at higher elevations. Wind gusts 35-45 mph. I-15, I-80, I-90 impacted.

Eastern MT; central and eastern WY; mountains of north-central CO: Blizzard and Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories this afternoon through Sunday morning. Snow accumulations up to 12-18 inches and wind gusts to 65 mph. I-25, I-70, I-80, I-90, I-94 highly impacted.

East-central and southeast UT; central and eastern AZ; NM; eastern and south-central CO; southeast WY: High Wind Warnings and Advisories from late this morning through tonight. Gusts 60-75 mph. I-10, I-25, I-40, I-70, I-80 highly impacted.


Western and north-central ND; northwest SD: Blizzard Warnings early Saturday morning through Sunday evening. Snow accumulations of 8-14 inches and wind gusts to 55 mph. Snow may be accompanied by some freezing rain. I-90, I-94 highly impacted.

Southern, central and eastern NE; most of KS; central and western OK; TX Panhandle and western TX: High Wind Warnings, Watches and Advisories starting midday today through tonight. Gusts 50-65 mph. I-10, I-20, I-27, I-35, I-40, I-70, I-80 impacted.

SD; southwest MN; northwest IA; NE; western and central KS; western OK; TX Panhandle: Severe thunderstorms expected late this afternoon through tonight. Damaging winds, very large hail, and tornadoes are all possible. Greatest risk area is from the TX Panhandle to north-central NE. I-27, I-29, I-40, I-70, I-80, I-90 potentially impacted.

— MN; IA; northwest MO; eastern KS; northeast, central and south-central OK: Severe thunderstorms possible Saturday and Saturday night. I-29, I-25, I-40, I-44, I-70, I-80, I-90, I-94 potentially impacted.
